Default Megan Coilovers On The Way! **Updated With Post-Install Pics

I ordered the Megan Coilovers (Hell, I've been an early adopter on most my other parts, so why not?) and they will be here by Friday, for a Friday/Saturday install. w00t! I'll take some pics of the install (Nothing detailed like a how-to or anything) and some before and after pictures, and toss them up Saturday night probably. Does ANYONE else have these installed yet? Or I'm I out on the bleeding edge?

good luck with those man. I am deciding between those and the tein SSPs, so I will be interested in how they feel and ride. I also want to see how good the build quality is and how easily they can be adjusted. Keep us updates

They're WAY more adjustable than the Tein's and only marginally more expensive. FYI, the Tein Basics were going to be $845 and the Megan coilovers ended up being $950ish. Also, the Teins are on perpetual back-order basically everywhere I've called (internet) and visited (locally). I WAS going to go with the Progress ones, but after being on backorder for 8 weeks, Progress finally put out a recall on them and that was the end of that. So yeah.

Do you know anything about the actually ease of adjusting the coilovers? Also, do you know if the Tein SSPs (NOT BASICS) have more agressive damper settings than the Megans??

I think to adjust, you have to jack the car up and remove the tires completely. I might be wrong though.
Oh crap you DID say SSP's, not basics :-p That's a different story. I don't know offhand about the damper settings. It's hell being an early adopter. Objective information like that is hard to locate. Anyone know?

Me either. I've had the car since November and I'm so close to being done with her, it makes my mouth water.. I can't wait for the "Completed Project" photo shoot.

How's that Hotchkis front sway bar treating you? I ordered the set, but only installed the rear one. I've heard SO many people say they have problems with the front one constantly needing readjusting (like ever 2-3 weeks) or that it rubs fiercely. So my Hotchkis front sway bar sits on my living room floor. :-p

I had mine installed by my friend who works at the vw dealership. I made sure that the whole front suspension was straight and lined up before bolting everything down. I have had it on for about a year and have no problems with it. I love how the car feels too. its sooo neutral its great. I would most definately recommend it.

Hmmm.. I wonder what all these other people are doing wrong?
I guess I could just spring to have the dealership install it. That way if it starts acting funny, they'll fix it. Plus, the dealership I'd use is literally 2 blocks away. That's tempting.... I know that the rear sway bar totally changed the car (for the better). What settings do you have yours on? My rear is on 'Medium' but I'm thinking about putting it to the stiffest setting (of the three) this weekend..

I called 4myride.com to see if the Progress coilovers were in stock. They didn't have them and when I mentioned I had an order pending with someone else (Robear Racing) for 8 weeks, they called Progress to find out what the story was. They called me back about a half hour later and told me about the recall. I don't know how widespread it is or anything else. I didn't ask because I was only interested in finding out how long I would have to wait for them to be available again (3 weeks to 3 months). I suggest you call Progress to verify this for yourself, since it potentially affects you. I didn't want to wait. This may all be BS, but either way I'm going with the Megans...

No problem bro. I know I've had mine since they came out and never had issues. That's why I called them directly and found out.
