Default Are my Calipers Frozen??

I need some help, my brakes seem like they are "stuck" on, not all the way though, just enough to hear an annoying hissing as the pads are continously against the rotors. When I take the caliper off, the piston is in the extended? position. I've tried bleeding the system(which I only THINK I did right...rear left, rear right, front right front left?) Any ideas are appreciated

i don't know if your calipers freeze, but could the cylinder go bad?

is the dust blocker or w/e bent possibly rubbing the rotor? were all the calipers extended the same distance? if so i dont think thats the problem...

There usually is a tiny bit of contact between the pad and the rotor. If you just swapped rotors, its also common for the pistons to extend a bit as the caliper is hanging free while you're doing the swap. Again, no big deal.

If you can turn the wheels relatively easy by hand with the car in the air its probably not a problem.

You could also take it for a drive in a quiet neighborhood and try not to use the brakes. Use the clutch and let it roll to a stop. If your wheels still feel cool (dont touch rotor) after youve let it roll to a stop youre probably fine.

When bleeding brakes, stick some surgical tubing over the zerk fitting on one end and stick the other end in a container of brake fluid to prevent air from getting in while you pump. Easier if you have a friend to work the pedal.

its not the dust blocker, if I remove the pads, the rotors spin free, but as soon as i put the pads on and bolt back on the caliper, and try to spin the rotor, it makes a scraping noise. Its worst on the Rear Driver's side, but also noticable on the rear Passenger's side.

also, I might try and put the OEM rotors back on, and then see if it still does it...it could be the brembo rotors are too big like you said soldier

i have this same noise coming from the driver's front. it's so annoying, espcially when it's quiet. that's all you hear- a scraping noise from the wheel. i looked around the wheel and nothing looks out of place...

I got a power Bleeder from killertc.com, and completely flushed the system...The bad news is, I also layed down a few layers of dynamat in the car, so i can't hear it driving lol, I'm going to have to let my girlfriend drive by me on the street and see

no brake mods. it's all stock down there. but i'll take the wheel off and check it.

if you really want to hear it, drive through an alley next to a wall/building.
