Good vids. I haven't actually autoXd the tC yet, but I've put it on the track at Texas World Speedway a few times. I've got H&R coilovers and a progress rear sway set on mid. Also swapped the tires for 225 Fuzion Zri's (not the stickiest but for the money they are wonder tires). The car handles substantially better. I'd say I could carry 6-10 more mph through most turns than stock.

The car would benefit magnificently from an LSD. Honestly, it would probably handle like a completely new car. And that CF roof probably lowers the center of gravity by like a foot.

The tC is a good car, it's just tuned and set up to be an econobox. Remember that most car speed is at least 70% driver, if not more. I was passing Carrera's, Vipers, Corvettes etc. just because they're drivers relied too heavily on the car to get them through corners.

There's a video floating around of sdparks beating the crap out of porsches at a PCA event. The only mods he had at the time were semi-sticky street tires and a rear sway.

Great job guys. It's good to see other tC owners who care about true car performance and not just beating civics on a drag strip.

Well said and thanks for being one of that understands and lets others know, we try to teach the real deal but it falls on deaf ears all to often.

I really like Sport Compact Car the best of the "tuner mags" because they do more for real performance that equates to real cars, real budgets, etc, than all the other combined.

Great to hear how well you like your car but more importantly how well you are using it

The car is an econobox in many ways, sure cool they grabbed such a great motor and tranny as far as strength goes though. Would be nice to free up some revs and have better gear ratios but at least the parts are strong and the wide powerband does held make up for the gears.

Suspension wise it is a pretty well sorted car, once you drop it a bit and add the rear sway, big gains there for not a huge amount of money.

I would look into filling the motor mounts next if it was my car, the "stiffy" does a good job, filled mounts even better.

I have found I do not need alot of camber, in fact less has provided alot more grip out of the turns when accelerating. I do have both Hotchkiss bars though. I am only running around 1.5 degrees negative front camber and maybe 1/2 negative in the rear, would run less but then I rub a bit until I roll the fenders a tad.

I also ran wide offset wheels on purpose to widen the track width and the long wheel base with stiffer springs really helps control weight transfer. I think the my tC is going to be really quiet fast soon, darn good now, more to come as I learn more and dial it in better. Once I get eurathane offset suspension bushings made, working on that with a manf, not for business, just so we can all have them though I may have to make it business to get it done, we can really fine tune things.

After I get moved and settled into my new house and shop I am going to get back into that project and then do the final measuring of the whole suspension geometry, corner weigh, find the true center of gravity, address anti lift and and anti dive, etc......... No stone unturned, going to get the best I can from this car

Wow that's awesome.

Paul is a very good driver. I also love reading and learning from raamaudio, a lot of the mods I'm working toward are based off of his ideas. I want to get into autocross one of these days but I'm not sure where to look in the area I live. I'll most likely have to go to the seattle area.

Thanks for the videos though, very entertaining.

You are very lucky, a huge number of events in the Pacific Norhtwest, part of why I moved near Portland.

Bremerton events are not to far from you, there are some in Everett as well.

I'm in Sequim, WA. Top left corner almost.

About 2 hours from seattle or 4 hours from portland. Bremerton is very doable and I'm willing to drive for others I want to get out and about with my car anyway.

Thanks for all the links I'll be looking some of these up after work. I'm already gonna be late hehe.

Or top right corner of the Olymic Pennisula eh? Sun belt, ALOT less rain than the rest of the Western Washington State area My sister lives in Keystone, I bought some lots on the far northern tip of the Kitsap Pennisula years ago, they were in the sun belt area as well. It is a bit of a drive to most events for you but at least Bremerton is not to far.

Yeah if you come to Bremerton I'll do an event there with you some time if we plan far enough in advance.

That would be awesome paul. It would be my first time so I'd love to get some tips from you. Even a few road course runs might be fun. My dad wants to drag his Ford lightning before he sells it just to see where it stands (pully, headers, exhaust, superchip'ed). Fun for him and I love to hear the supercharger whine. We'll make it that way soon.

I'm still waiting on my Eneki rpf's. Once I get those I'll be good to go. Hankook tires are in the mail and I'm ordering some new lug nuts.

Yes the sun belt it is. Today we hit right around 90. I lived in issaquah/bellevue area for awhile and the amount of rain was amazing compared to sequim. It is a very nice area, just out of the way for sure. I've been here around 12 years and it's a great place, very peaceful.

I'll let you know when i'm ready to go and I hope we can meet up sometime, would be fun for me. I don't get out with my car very much so I'd love to have some fun. Thanks paul and rick.
