if you really want to go all out, get the Tein SSP's.. but if you're on a budget get s-techs.. im waiting for a wider selection of struts to come out and my oem ones will probably start squeaking by then

the main question is what will you be doing with your car. If your a spirited street driver, ss-p's with edfc is overkill x5. Not to mention they will be nearly 1800 with install.

I have basics and couldnt be happier. I plan to autocross and I feel that the basics will give me the performance I need.

If you want install to be easy get the ss-p's as they come with top mounts so you dont have to tear your stock strut apart.

I believe he was asking between the Progressive and the Tein's. The Teins are more of a street coilover and Progressive is more autocross oriented. Unless you race professionaly you dont need to adjust dampening. Considering you have to put it on a lift everytime you want to adjust it, its kinda useless for most people anyway. The SS-P is supposed to be a harsh ride due to the stiffer mounts than the factory. I believe the Progressive is fairly stiff but designed for performance so it should be. Progressive makes very good quality from what I have seen. The Teins are supposed to be a mix of daily driver and autocross. The basics are more daily driver and the SS-P are autocross. But honestly unless its setup for a specific track they should be similiar performance. Only think that bother me about Tein is their crappy website. I mean how can they not put up some decent site if they are such a great company.

Doesn't that statement contradict itself by sayin its more autoX than more street drivin?

So the question still remains... What is best for what (best performance, best daily driver, best overall, etc...)?

You've never actually driven a car with these, have you? I can't say anything about Progress. I own and daily drive Tein SS-Ps. They are far from harsh. You do not need a lift to change the damping, only the ride height, and that's the same no matter whose coilover you buy.

Adjustable damping is a great feature for people who drive on the street and use the same car for competition (e.g. autocross). Fixed damping may be great, and it may suck. It all depends on what you like and where you are driving.

The biggest selling feature for me was the SS-Ps come with camber plates. That let me dial in the amount of negative camber I wanted. No other replacement strut comes with camber plates, so it was an easy choice for me.

There are MUCH better suspension companies than Tein or Progress. Penske and Ohlins make some of the best in the world. They just don't make anything for our cars.

i have the progress tech coilover set and have been riding around on them for approximately 2 months now and i love em!! i had tein s-techs before the coils and can completely feel the difference between the springs and the coils. the coils with the progress rear sway is a combination you can not pass up.
