Default Need Urgent Help Taking Off Strut Bolt!?

Alright, I bought a strut bar last night. One side is installed, though i'm having trouble getting the bolt off of one of the struts. Theres a sheet of metal in the way, and the bolt won't slide off. I've taken it off before, but i'm so confused as too why I can't take it off now.
Any help?

Thanks

Ya, I just bent it out of the way a little bit... but if you have some tin snips or a small cutting wheels, you could just lop it off a little bit.

Or you could just loosen all three up about 1/2 inch and raise the front end of the car just a tad with a jack.. the strut will drop down enough to get the nut off ;)

Raise the car from the middle jack point so you raise both wheels. .that way the sway isnt working against you.

or you could remove the cowl beneath the wipers and wiper blades and have access to all of the bolts without having to jack up the car.

Its not the cowl getting in the way that he is talking about.

I'd still recommend bending or cutting it a bit. Makes life easy if you are like me and constantly tinker under the hood

Jack up your car and unbolt the other two bolts on the strut tower so that it'll drop the coilover down a bit, so you get more clearance. It's the metal tab that's in the way right?
