Default New brakes and caliper hits rim

I got the Axis Ultimates and when I tried to install them the inside of the rim hits the brake caliper. Im just going to grind the caliper down enough for clearance, sound ok?

what size are your rims? And did you upgrade the actual caliper too? or just the pads?

the rims are 18's and it was just a pad upgrade, i did upgrade the rotors a while back. I took very little off for the clearance and im about to go test them now.

that doesn't make any sense.... if it's just the pads then it wouldn't affect the calipers...

Reinstall the brake pads again and make sure the brake pads are sitting right. Are the brake pads for the tC? Because changing the brake pads shouldn't affect the clearance.

it does because of the thickness of the pads. i never would have thought to check before i tested them. first time they messed up my rims a bit but not a big problem. just tested them and its all good now.

calipers are a fixed size, and it's the piston within the caliper that push the pads against the rotors to make your car stop. if you only changed the pads, then you would have a harder time getting the caliper to fit over the rotor, than having issues with the rim rubbing. meaning....that something is not re-installed correctly. it's not the pads.

it was the piston, the two parts that stick out further than the rest.

I know some peeps who have shaved the 'nipple' ( ) on the caliper in order for their rims to not hit it.

after installing the powerslot plus kit, i grinded (dremel) my calipers down a few mm to fit under my wheels.
