you should go with different coils then, because slammed cars already have a performance loss, and these coils are designed to maximize the lowering potential...not handling.

Oh performance is definitely a huge plus. As with most coilovers, the increased spring rates definitely help reduce body roll. Our set is at 9/11 kg/mm so I can't chime in much for the standard spring rate sets that Stance comes with, but body roll is definitely reduced. The sets are valved really well; each dampening adjustment is definitely more noticeable when changed. Performs really quiet also, which is a huge plus. Car feels a bit more attached to the road =].

09 Socal TC,

That's true. Slamming the car definitely can have a negative effect on the performance, but these coilovers aren't made just for slamming. The height adjustment is very broad, so slamming isn't the required option on Stance coilovers.

Def. not true. Stance puts tons of R&D and testing into all their coilovers before they release them to the public.

The standard spring rates I have seen from them have higher rates in the front than the rear. This is done sometimes to make them feel a bit less rough on the street, but is completely the opposite of what they should be when you have a lower motion ratio in the rear. So I would say their standard spring rates are definitely not optimal for handling. The custom rates with stiffer springs in back would be a much better setup. Should be at least 45-50% stiffer in the rear than the front based upon what I have seen work well on this car.

I think they may do that purposely. Most things ive read about stance are that they try to be "streetable" more than other brands.

I wasn't saying these coils handle bad. I would love to own a set of Stances. I was just saying that you have other options to maximize your handling potential...like Tein SSPs/Pillow Ball Mounts.

^These have the same features, and also can have higher spring rates(which is the 9kg front/11kg rear mentioned above, standard is 7kg front/ 9kg rear). Difference, you keep full shock travel with Stance, that is lost the lower you go with Tein. What are you trying to get at?

I recieved my stance coilovers yestarday and i tried to find any kind of serial number on them so i can call stance and verify that my coilovers are made to my specs but i was unable to find any numbering on them
One thing i noticed is that my coilovers came straight from Stance USA menaing they were drop shipped to me.

Guys if you actually look at stance website now they list coils for tc to be 7kg front and 9kg rear as standart i guess they did their research and decided to go with what actually works..
here is a link for all of you.

Is it a pinging noise? The sound is coming from the front right for me. Stance told me the springs have to break in, since they are new.

In that case, as soon as I get my 6 spped swap done, I'll psot my GC. I ordered The GR+Pro with SSD, GC coilover and top hat with a GD lower bracket. Custom spring rates too.

Woow these coilovers are wicked. I'm ready to dump my raceland's and upgrade to a proper coil kit. I rode in an RSX at work with a 5-zigen coilover set and it was such a difference to the raceland it made my car feel so sloppy. RL's are way to soft for my preference. Any deals going on ? What price did you guys pay for a set.

Good discussion everybody.

Engifineer, you are right, thanks for the input. Meng and auto RND took the liberty to call stance to make them produce 7/9 just for us instead of 7/6. This can be confirmed just by calling stance =]. It has been a while since the release, and as expected, the 7/9 sets sold more then the 7/6. So yes the website is updated and standard sets may be 7/9, just like the sets we stock now.

To all the people expecting Stance for months now will definitely agree that the original rate was stated at 7/6.

Rus, as a authorized dealer for Stance, I assure you that your set includes the custom spring rates you asked for. I am sorry they did not include serial number for you.

Stinky,

Does the pinging sound happen when you turn? I'm taking a wild guess, but it could be your front endlinks. The OE ones aren't adjustable, so there is a lot of stress on the endlinks when you lower it to a certain height.

Dominc,

Check to see if you did not over compress the spring. I am almost positive that the clunking sound you are getting is because of the over-compressed spring. Did you install the coilovers yourself? When you lower the height on the coilover, the perch for the spring pre-load usually goes up a long with the shock body, which in turn can add more load on the spring itself. Try to reduce the spring tension by loosening the pre-load perch. It sounds like the spring is rattling because its not allowed to compress properly.

Edit* just watched the video. Definitely check the spring preload.

DPT852,

We are an authorized dealer and have a full inventory =]. We also have a sponsored sales thread on this forum.
