Default Popping Sound After Front Hotchkis Swaybar Installation

Ever since I installed the front swaybar, I have ocassionally felt a popping sound when turning the wheel from a prolonged stop. It`s not while I am actually driving, but as if I was just going out of a parking lot or out of my driveway. What`s the deal? Is the swaybar hitting something?

Mine makes noise too, not the same one, but its the roof because it needs to flex.

It is probably the bushings. If you didn't grease them very well them they will make that popping almost creaking sound. You can re-grease them, but it is a real PITA

mine did the same thing. It might be something different. All I did was re-grease the front bushings and the sound went away. I guess mine was more of a creaking then a popping. It would happen over bumps at really slow speeds, like speed bumps and stuff like that.

If it's only when you are taking off then I bet it's bushings as well. How long have you have the front sway on?

Have you looked at the bar to see if anything is hitting or rubbing it?

i had the same problem as you... the problem is that the new sway bar is so much thicker than the stock one that it hits the power steering tie rod when the car turns.... and the only way to fix it is that you need to lower your car, and i recommend that maybe you look at trd springs and shocks combo if you dont wanna slam your car, but that would fix the problem... my car made the same noise before i dropped it, as i had the same setup as you... but i just lowered my car on tein s-techs and the noise is gone because there is enough room inbetween the tie rod and the sway bar... thats what my friend's dad told me when he helped me install the new shocks and springs.... but good luck with it... maybe take it to the scion dealership or some local shop and have them take a look.. im sure they can do something about it if you dont feel like lowering it (which i think you should!)

I have had the same thing, mine is lowered and it has occasionally popped. I have greased the fittings and that has helped.

well then.. idn why its still making the popping noise... check all the bolts again, lube up all of them... if it still makes a noise, then take it to a shop or the dealership and im sure they can fix it... oh and nice choice on the springs... tein springs are a good choice, i was set on h-techs first but went with s-techs instead and could never be happier... but anyways good luck!

check your bolts thats all I have to say.

i have had countless times where people asked my why their suspension is making a poping noise after some kind of work on the suspension, i went through and tightened all the bolts from a-z on the suspension and everything was fine
