Yo, yeah, popping noise in the front end is never good. how many miles do you have on it? could even be a tore up bearing because you only usually notice bearings or tyrods while turning, but your probably on track with the strut. take the tires off and check it out, something might just be loose and that's why your getting that sound. Can you feel anything in the steering wheel or through the gas pedal?

A couple of the previous posts in this thread I would say are in the ball park of some of the things/areas to check. Here's my 2 cents for what it's worth... 1. Verify that there isn't anything physically in the turning path of the wheel/tire. 2. Visually inspect each of the 4 axle boots. (inner & outer) Look for ANY tares or broken/missing clamps. It's most common to happen at the outer CV joint point, but inners can sustain sometimes damage too. 3. If you are lowered (especially if using lower springs over OEM shocks/struts). Verify the springs are still seated properly where they should be. It is common for one to move out of position even with just normal driving. The OEM shocks/struts can extend further then the now shorter springs can which can cause them to move if that happens. It is possible for the root cause to be somewhere else in the steering linkage, but far less common on a newer car unless it has sustained physical damage or if a part had a pre-existing physical flaw in it. Hope that helps ya out.

its the axle im sure its happened to me before but then again my car sits about about 2,5-3.5 inch or so from the ground. what i did is jack the car up and see if you have alot of play in the axle and also check the inside of your rim for axle grease? my front left rim is caked in grease from 4 dif axles messing up. you can got to the auto parts store and and get a replacement axle from there and they have a life time warranty so if it messes up again just take it back and replace it for free.

You literally already know what's wrong. There is nothing we can do to help you get it fixed. Suck it up and take it to the dealership and spend the money to get it fixed since I'd say you busted something up pretty good. I wouldn't ride on that any longer than you need to. They'll probably give you a loaner car if they don't have the parts right away and you still need to get to work. Good luck man, but there isn't anything more we can tell you, if someone knows what is wrong, that still does you no good, because if you tell Toyota what you told us, they'll know what's wrong, especially after hoisting it up, they'll know within 5 seconds.
