any quantifiable data that shows you reduced braking distances during cold and hot stops?

this question goes to anyone with brake upgrades, other than the guys replacing stock blank rotors with crap stoptech slotted/xdrilled rotors

2007 setup: Ate rotors & Super Blue fluid, Goodrich SS brake lines, and Dezod X Rated pads

2008 setup: Wilwood 13" BBK, and Carbotech AX6 pads

^^ I was against getting a BBK, but I got a killer deal on the brakes and pads.

tC doesnt need that much stopping power like all the other cars that uses 13" rotors; 350z rx7 240 etc. which makes sense. endless knows wassup.

Even turbo'd tCs don't need a BBK, upgrading the pads is really all that is needed. BBKs are mostly for show on these cars and the most noticeable difference with BBKs (on daily drivers) come from changing pad compounds rather than rotor and/or caliper size.

As I said before, I got a killer deal on my Wilwoods, otherwise, I wouldn't have them. And even so, I'm choosing my pads wisely so not disrupt the brake balance.

It does need stopping power when you're on a heavy set of wheels & tires (20x10/20x13). My wheels are 29 pounds, & the tires probably weigh about 27 pounds, which is a lot heavier than stock (17x7 I believe). My rear tires alone are 32.7 pounds a piece, therefore I need better brakes.

My brakes started wearing down like crazy just from my round trip to SEMA. I can feel a significant difference with my bbk.

...? what?

How does a turbo determine if it needs bigger brakes? A 500hp car with stops exactly the same from 60mph as a 200hp car with.

Bigger brakes are for reducing brake fade... more pistons is for a better pedal feel... bigger pads are for more friction (thus easier to modulate).

I'm willing to bet that 99% of the pictured cars have never stepped foot on a track, making big brakes a "all show" type of mod...

especially since no one was able to provide quantifiable data that their BBK have reduced their braking distances.

You are wrong with that statement. My car has been to the track a few times. I honestly can say that I use my coilovers and BBK like crazy. I step on those damn brakes really hard sometimes and sometimes just to see how good it stops. I gurantee you that it will out stop a stock tC any day.. even in stopping distance. The reason why there is no quatifiable date is because its common sense that the car will stop shorter with a BBK and also no one has the time and would even waste the time measuring that out.

I have the Rotora kit... 4 piston and stoptech rotors with axxis ult. pads for the rear.
They are AWESOME!
