Default Powdercoated suspension components ?

Just wondering if anyone has polished or powdercoated the suspension components on our cars ? anyone have pictures ? I am thinking bout tearing my suspension apart and sending off the control arms and cross members to get powdercoated, as well with my sway bars. I have a second set of front and rear cross members with all suspension components intact. im planning on throwing in new poly bushings and replacing the rest with oem that are not included in the master kit. any suggestions ? trying to make a big brake kit and jic look good

what bout anodizing or how ever you spell it ? i know that the weight is an issue with the powdercoating but also its better than paint cause its more durable and that and the roads will eventually start to rust the components that the stock paint has been taken off due to regular driving around and rocks. so im just trying to protect my investment. as far as weight car has carbon hood, fenders, trunk and will soon be a two seater so i dont think the extra powder is gonna add that much more to make it noticeable.

i changed screen names but i think that the powder coating would crack and chip itself of because of the compression of the springs, although some springs come powder coated. I have had smaller parts coated and a slight twist or bend in the part and it cracked off.
thanks- zombie

um it would crack and chip if it was painted, but powdercoating is a lot more durable then that, plus springs come with powder coat from the factory....

i had a guy do some track wheels for me once here locally i went back to go talk to him and he told me he would do the brake calipers, front and rear cross member, both front control arms, nuckles, rear arms, all the brakets, plus the wheels and hotchkins sway bars all for 450 witch is not bad. something i will most likely be doing soon after i save up more cash to replace the front hubs and wheel bearings since they are bad. wanna get better lugs while im at it and another polyurethane kit to stuff into the newly coated parts.

Any solid piece of metal can be powedercoated.lots of hot rods do it to the A arms, rear ends, springs, even frames if they have a big enough oven.No worries on weight....it does not add to much to waht you want to coat and woudl last a long time and be very easy to keep clean.

yea im trying to see if i can buy the suspension set up of a scion that has a blown motor and the kid dont have any money to fix it so he is selling everything off of it. im seeing if he wants to trade a lil honda i have sitting around for it. so at least he has something to move around in. and i can just use that suspension to do all this to and swap mine out and have a spare set laying around.

you might as well put some under body coating or something on there while your at it....for rust and sound dampening.

i believe there's sprayable stuff called lizardskin....
