question about bump stop
I just got a pair of H-techs yesterday and it says that I have to cut these bump stops..Do i really have to? What would happen if I didn't cut them..would that cause anything to go wrong?

Ever been in a car with hydros? It basically felt like the car was hopping like crazy. The idiot that installed them completely removed them. If you remove the bump stops itll basically feel like blown shocks. You don't have to modify anything when installing the H-Techs.

hmm... yeah. you wouldn't want to remove them completely at all..
however because of the slight spring drop, you'll need to cut it slightly off the bottom. make sure to orient the bump stop correctly after putting it on, saving the top part where the notches are.

Yes, cut off about 1/2" on each bump stop, per Tein instructions and shown in step 7 of this SL install guide:

Haven't heard a definitive reason for this, but I believe this is to compensate a little for the strut being pushed closer to its full compression point due to the shorter H-tech spring. This would give the strut a little more travel range to operate in before it slams against the bump stop.
Or it could be for some other completely different reason!

well.. i've seen what can happen to a bump stop if it's not cut...
the shorter spring travel will slam down on the bump stop with a little more force on it.. eventually crushing it and making a small lateral crack.... further driving and hitting the bump stop will just destroy it as the crack will just grow.
at that point the bump stop is.. as i said before.. completely destroyed and rendered useless.
just follow directions..
