Default Replace struts when new lowering springs installed?

I'm getting the TRD lowering springs in the coming month or so and am undecided as to whether or not I should buy the TRD struts as well.

Based on past experiences, am I better off putting on the new springs and waiting for the OEM struts to go out before getting the TRD's or just buy the TRD struts now? The OEM struts have about 15,000 miles on them so far.

Thanks

if you're gonna wait for the stock struts to go out...you might be waiting a while. i have a lil more than 95k on the stock struts and they are still ok

Potholes, cargo, and fat people notwithstanding----

TRD - Struts not necessary. The 1.25 inches of travel and constant compression aren't going to wear it much faster.

S-tech, or other very low - Struts likely to go out within 2 years, maybe less.

Coilovers - Doesn't matter. Coilovers come with "struts."

TRD Springs only= Sub $200.

TRD springs + Shocks = $600 from trdsparks.com

Tien Basic Coilovers = Sale prices in $800 range.

usually the stock struts should hold out for a while... then again your car could turn out like my 05 tC and the struts started leaking in the front at about 47,000 miles. If you can get a good package with everything you need in it, such as the full struts and springs package it might be best to go ahead and do everything at once.

You're going to have some people say yes, and some say no. I have Hotchkis on stock struts, and that was one of my first mods - 3 years and 67,000 miles ago. No problems at all.
I have a set of TRD struts too, just haven't gotten around to putting them on yet......maybe after I get a few miles out of the old ones I'll swap 'em.
