whoa whoa, calm down turbo, I'm not going to waste my time and get technical on all the reasons why having a larger pad contact area will help you slow the car better. Either way, getting bigger brakes is only a small step toward getting your cat to stop better. Better suspension, having your car cornered wieghed, and most of all tires will all affect your braking.

im thinking about getting theses as well. and you said it fit fine with the stockers... so im happy with that (for when i change back to stock in the winter)

if you could give a good review of what you like / dont like, ease of install, that would be great!

I got this color because its a limited edition blue. Everyone does the red or black, but how many light blue calipers have you seen? I think they are mad hot. The install was fairly easy. The rotors came off almost by themselves and they kit is top notch. Everything fit perfect. The other thing you might have a problem with is the dust covers, I removed them fairly easy. It took me about 2 hours to dothe first one and then about 1 hour to do the second. It was way easier than what I expected. Rotora puts out a great product.

that is extremely untrue. i autocross regularly, and once speeds pick up and the rare event comes up where the brakes have to be mashed, its brake fade heaven on stock parts. i DO have porterfield pads laying around but no need yet. i'm not trying to knock on the stock brake system, but it IS pretty much for street driving. that's about it.

anyway, is this rotora package the one that is commonly found around 600-700 bucks?

typically 1,400 for the front (calipers, rotors, lines, pads)

rotora imo is one of the lower brands you can buy.

here is the order imo, of quality and functionality:

Stoptech(trd) > Wilwood > Rotora

im sure there will be a debated about this, but it has been proven time and time again.

SSBC? Brembo? your leaving a few out.

what are your reasons for saying rotora is the lower end? im not defiying you, just questioning your reasoning with proof. but without a doubt, stoptech and wilwood are good brakes

im talking about brakes made for the tC, not any other car.

afaik those are the only three companies that make bbk's, unless you want to count powerslots + kit, but i dont consider it to be a bbk.

i am speaking from experience and from what i have seen, there is also an article somewhere about this, where they put a bunch of bbk's to the test and stoptech came out on top.

do you have that link? id love to read it

and you are correct, i dont count rotors (powerslot) as a bbk either. i consider a bbk to be larger rotors, ss lines, 4 (or 6) piston calipers, performance pads

brembo is a good brand too, and nissan uses them from the factory... but i personally dont like them because they are some heavy beast. even though that doesnt apply to the tC... im just stating my views on that companies product.

the main reason i went with rotora, is i can fit my stock wheels on in the winter time with no adjustments needed. stock tech u need min. 18" (w/ my 19" it isnt a prob in the summer, but winter it is), and wilwood claims to be able to use 17"s, you need a small spacer to give the caliper enough clearance. and i dont want to use any spacer, so matter the size.

i didnt know you ran rotoras, i thought he was the few who ran it.

and btw, you can run 17's with stoptech, however you will need a spacer to fit the stock wheels.

however if you live in cali, where its almost always summer, then you dont have to worry about winter wheels.

the only problem i can see me having a BBK is going to be if i get a flat, the spare will not fit at all with the BBK.. however i luckily have AAA and a family for that

and sorry i dont have a link to the article, but if i ever run up on it i will pm it to you.

that is correct, they will, but you need a spacer with the stock 17". and i dont want to use spacers.

This is probably the info that is being referred to in the braking challenge but the kits are installed on RSX models:

yeah erik i read that, and that info isnt enough for me. were the pads warm? cold? were they all the same temp? different tires were used, different drivers (im assuming per the mags), plus stoptech wont put something on their site with a competor being them. there is no doubt that stop tech makes a quality product, but i would like a more non-biast source.

oh... and your header is finally on my car. so far so good with the ceramic coating with a polished finish =]
