Had one possibility... a friend of a friend that owns his own small cnc shop. But have not had the time to follow up on it really. Would need to have the renderings done and have the parts run. Currently so busy I dont know how I even have time to breathe...

one of my friends is a machinist, I have talked with him bout it a few times but its not a part that you can simply just go out and build. So many different things to look at.

A person who is decently qualified at autocad/3d model should be able to create a piece if they know what exactly they are building. However getting someone to build it will be the expensive part.

Bumping this back from the dead. I renewed my SCCA membership a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to some track time this summer and wanted to know what I can do to improve the handling/grip of my tC. I've always wanted to improve the handling of my car, but never knew much, so I apologize in advance for the "noob" questions.

I currently have 17x7.5 +48 BBS's on the stock 215's. Tires are the first thing on my list, but i don't know whether to upgrade to 225's or 235's.

WendysOrBust also mentioned spacers to increase the front track. I wanted more info on this to find out if it's a good idea or not (from a safety aspect [the thought about spacers scares me]). If so, what size should I look at? If not, I was looking at getting new wheels and if I do, I was thinking about possibly reverse staggering them. 9's in the front and 8 or 8.5's in the rear. Thoughts?

Optimal would probably be closer to 600f/900R on the spring rates, but you dont even want to deal with that if you drive it on the street. Not to mention, on crappy public roads, too much spring is detrimental in the corners since the car will want to skitter around more. Personally, I probably wouldnt go much stiffer that what I have personally for a daily driver. I am planning on taking a million measurements and setting it up with a suspension frequency somewhere between a mild autoxr and a medium to serious setup, which should keep me close to where I am for rates roughly. But that is when I finally get to putting together a new setup. Possibly Koni adjustables, perches removed, grooved for snap rings, sleeves, hypercoil springs, etc ... in other words, may be a while before I get around to that one.

For tires, look at rules to see what class you will be in and what is allowed. Wider is better most times, but for example, running in ST for autox, we are only allowed up to 225's.

Splitters definitely do some good. More so at higher speeds, by many drivers have seen improvements on the faster autox courses as well.

Don't know if you plan to auto-x:
In ST class, max wheel width is 7.5 and max tire width is 225, so I would get some 225s so you can compete in ST. I'm in ST, it's a fun class.

For competitive tires in a street tire class, look at the extreme performance summers. Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec, Bridgestone RE-11, Hankook Ventus RS-3, Yokohama AD07/08 are probably the front runners. Just picked up a set of Star Specs myself, can't wait to try them out.

Hey guys i have a Hotchkis rear sway installed and have been using it for about a year now. Somewhere in my backyard i found a front Hotchkis sway bar. What are the advantages/disadvantages of installing the front sways and should i install it or not?

Installing the front will give you less oversteer, and make the handling more neutral. It can also compromise corner exit traction on open diff FWD cars. Depends on what you're looking for from your car.

how would Doc I's front splitter work compared to something like APR , wondering cuz i know his is plastic and the APR is CF, like does the doc i splitter flex? i have it in my head that it would

I'm looking at both splitters and it seems like Doc. I's is a better buy. It's cheaper, stronger, has cutouts so you don't need to take the bumper off to change your oil.

Some flex is a good thing. If you hit the ground with a CF splitter, enjoy a shattered piece of CF. With ABS, it may scrape it up, but at least it wont break.

yea thats true it wont break and thats why im leaning more towards it, but for downforce would it work just as good?

^ Just make sure that if you are actually planning on using a splitter that you mount it to the frame somehow, bolting it to the bottom lip of the bumper is asking for trouble.

It's a daily driver and i've never autocrossed. Planning to eventually. But driving with the oversteer so long i've gotten used to it already. I kinna like it. Anybody here have both the front and rear installed?
