Signs of a Dead Master Brake Cylinder???
#28
i actually helped my friend with this exact problem today, checked the calipers, replaced the master cylinder and no luck. it has to be the booster on his car. sounds like it might be the same for yours.

I hate to bring this thread back from the grave, but would another sign of a dying master or slave cylinder be a clutch that is too stiff, and doesnt fully disengage until it is pumped repeatedly?
I brought my tc in to the dealer today for just that issue. which started last night. it simply refused to disengage the clutch until it was pumped like a dozen times or more. it started out way too stiff for stock (felt like a stage 2 on a friends tc) and as I pumped would gradually soften to normal levels at which point I could shift.
getting to the dealer this morning was an adventure in stopping as little as possible.

well... an update. I posted this in another thread, but here goes.
took the car into the dealer, mind you my water pump pulley bearing was wearing out so I needed that replaced under warranty. they had the water pump replaced within 2 hours of my dropping the car off on thursday morning, but didnt even bother to find out what the clutch issue was until late friday afternoon (I know this because I was called when the pump was done, and came back to the dealer both later thursday and mid-day friday to find the car up on the lift but with all it's wheels on, and no-one paying any attention to it). turns out one of my pressure plate springs had broken loose, so now I am stuck with having the dealer replace it at significant cost, as the clutch isnt covered at all. if I had thought it was actually the clutch, I wouldnt have taken her to the dealer at all - my clutch was not showing any signs of slippage or anything else that might indicate excessive wear... it just went stiff the night before when I went to start the car, and the fact that it would eventually go to normal feel after repeated pumping lead me to beleive it was a purely hydraulic issue.
what really makes me angry is that because they didnt check it out when they should have, I didnt know I needed to order a new clutch and flywheel until it was too late for dezod to ship before the weekend. now it will be friday this week before I receive the CC stage 2 and CC 12lb flywheel upgrades, when I could have had them installed today if the dealer had told me in a timely manner.
