EXCELLENT CHOICE on parts! Porterfield r4-s! you're going to love them!
It might take a week or two of bedding in for you to fully feel the carbon-kevlar
to it's full potential. Just letting you know, I had them before and it took a little bit of
time to bed them in. But once they did, wow! They lasted about 50k miles on my
old car, before they needed to be replaced. Yeah I'm not kidding they're that good!
Minimal dust, high bite, just a great pad.

Glad you got some! Maybe I'll have someone else here who knows how good these
things really are! And yes the rotors look great too!

keep us posted how it goes!

one question though.. i see porterfield's catalog for
the Celica GTS which I think the tC shares it's brakes with.
The fronts are AP817 but they list AP823 for the rear.
not the number i see in your pics.

Did they change the rear pad for the tC?
Were you able to confirm this with Porterfield?

Porterfield had never made brake pads for the '07 tC, only the '06. I confirmed the OEM part numbers with the local Toyota dealership. The front and rear pads are the same as the '06 model.

Okay so Porterfield made pads for the 06 tC, that's understandable. I was trying to
understand..you provided the Toyota part number and then Porterfield was able to
cross reference with Porterfield's part number? Trying to understand. Thanks.

And are the pads on the 07 tC that different from the 06 tC?

awesome! Yeah I like their company too, very good. You're lucky you're so close to their offices! Is it a large place? Obviously me being in michigan I never knew, just knew that their service, and products were excellent.

Yeah I have yet to find another pad that matches the carbon-kevlar composition Porterfield came up with.

Did you notice the area in between the black painted area and the pad contact area gets ugly surface rust after a rain and needs to be cleaned off?

Same with the grooves in the rotors, they get a tiny bit of surface rust in them.

I got the same exact rotors as you and this really peeves me. They look hot though, congrats

Yea the rust wipes off where the pad contacts the rotor, but theres 1/4 inch that the pad doesn't reach to that stays rusted.
