traction bars???
#23
Well, I stand corrected. Did some light reading on FWD traction bars and I guess they do exist. Seem to be fairly popular in DSM circles. Would you be using them to pre-load the suspension for drag racing?

the dsm guys use them probably because they squeeze out insane amounts of powr. but for the tc that isnt built so much there are so many alternatives to help the launch. i would get a nice set of slicks. but i dont drag. if he wants to do it then more power to him i guess.

Yes exactly! That's what they are for! You preload the suspension hence why I also said I was getting coilovers! It all helps and I'm doing all this bc yes as of now I'm drag racing the car and I'm seting the car up to handle more power. As of right now Im around 260 whp. Not insane amount of power but I am planning on a full custom build an plan on making around 600 whp. I already have a set of bars and a chasis brace being made and if I get good numbers from it me and my shop will be offering it to everyone! The setup would be able to be driven on, on a daily basis! I'll keep everyone posted!

so i did some research, i guess wen you first posted this the first thing that came to mind was rwd leaf springs. but i was on honda tech. do they connect to the lower control arms some how or somethin? because the way it was explained it said that it keeps the control arms from moving back and forward. i guess it would make alot of sense, but i tell you wat i got coilovers on my car and it does seem to help better with a launch but if it is bumpy at all where you are launching from your gonna start spinning. good luck with building this set up

He's right..... My buddy is making over 800 who in his honda civic at over 40 psi.... He is using stock tranny no LSD he has traction bars... so he got his 60' down to 1.6 or 1.8 not sure..... but yes traction bars would help amazingly to lower your 60'. Go look up on google and have someone fab you some bc no one makes them for the tc yet.
put the crack pipe down

a lot of ignorant people in this one. Honda people have been doing it for years. and ya you can put a wheelie bar on a FWD and have it be functional. research before you diss cause you come out looking like the dumb azzz.

Stopping by the shop today I can get some prices hopefully today! I already know that it can be done and that the kit he is making will be a complete bolt on kit! You can do it in your driveway and it will be fine for every day driving!! Hopefully u can get this on a try it out before it gets to cold outside!

too late for that man, its already freezing here. expecting another big storm. this winter is the first time I drive the tc and it did good for two weeks than some biatch ran into me takin out my front bumper, damaging my hood, and breaking a head light. so now its getting stripped down doing some crazy things here and there and boosting it before the snow melts in a few months.
