Who can give me their opinion on the TRD Lowering Springs. Did it improve handling? Cornering? Thanx!

Yep, its all over the place, but I did improve handling a bit, eliminates that horrible gap, and isn't low enough to put the car in danger

 

I am very pleased with my TRD drop. I felt like handling did improve, but I also put on the TRD rear sway at the time of the spring install as well. Plus, I believe if I ever wanted to move up to 18's, I would be less likely to run into "rub" issues.

 

the springs are a good drop in my opinion, reduces wheel gap pretty nice, Im on 18x8's with a 35 offset and i have no rubbing. also i put the TRD stut bar on at the same time and there is a difference, steering feels awsome and not loose.

but, I actually wanted to add on something.. how much and where did everyone get their trd lowering springs? I'm planning on dropping after winter, I want the TRD's. I'm curious where I can find them for the lowest price.

 

i think its the perfect drop if your gonna get a body kit, not too high not too low

 

got mine from my dealer, like 130 bucks, and like 20 to install, lol i got a hook up

 

 

lol forgot to mention my strut bar, 185 + 20 to install

 

I would highly recommend the Rear Strut with or without the lowering springs. Less body roll and tightens the rear end up on sharp cornering. Also, the TRD springs don't give going over any bumps, a lot less bounce than other brands. Have the shocks and struts on mine as well.

 

I'm happy with mine. The springs ($170 - dealership) and struts ($460 - TRDSparks.com) were installed at the same time, so I don't know about the ride with just the springs. I later installed the TRD sway ($160 - dealership). Even with the OEM tires, that combo makes for fairly capable and fun car.

 

hmm I thot dealers usually try and rip ya off lol seems like u guys got good deals on ur springs/installs. Also im curious...lets say I bought some TRD springs from a site...installed them myself...would that mess with my warranty? I know its toyota part, but do u have to get it installed at the dealership to keep it under warranty or does that not even really matter? Thx

thats what my dealer always tells me, tobe covered by warranty they have to do it, cuz its written on paper ya know

 

I hagled with parts people on the price of the springs and the sway bar. I had to go to a 2nd dealership to get that price on the sway. Tell 'em you can get the parts cheaper online, but don't wanna pay shipping, sometimes they'll work with you. I got the struts from Sparks.

 

Alright ill try it sometime...I really need to drop this 4x4 lol. Think if i bring them some TRD springs they i will install for cheapish?

 

all i need for the rest of my suspension are the stuts/shocks and the sway.

 

The TRD springs will greatly improve the handling over stock. Anytime you lower a vehicle the handle will improve because you are lowering the center of gravity. They also ride really good to so that's a plus.
