Default TRD pads?

Im going to be changing my brakes soon, up front and in the rear.....I ewanted to go TRD since they supposedly provide better performace at highway and stop and go conditions.

Any good / bad experiences with the TRD pads?

p.s. do they make rear trd pads as well? ( didnt see them for sale @ sparks )

TRD are good pads soft as hell and is cheaper than OEM. Bad part is that they only carry front brake pads. Rear ur gonna have to run stocks. How many miles do u have?

If you want to run front and rear TRD equivalent pads, you should look into Axxis Ultimates. Very, very, very, very similar compound if you get my drift ;)

how long do these last? I'd imagine high preformance pads would need to replaced more often?
I would love to spend some decent money in to handling and & b raking but I'm hoping to make some fair compromise between preformance and cost.

You can expect the Ultiamtes or other similar pad to last quite a while. They might not last as long as stock pads, but you wont be replacing pads constantly either. I would say 20,000 miles would not be unheard of.

Brakes (pads and rotors) are wear and tear items, there is no warranty.

^^ the dealership..... but we just covered that the TRD pads are cheaper and better....

if you're changing out the rotors... then depending on what rotors you get.. then you may or may not have to switch them out.

imo... just buy the TRD pads... or axxis (which i'm going to get)

doubt you'll need rear pads anytime soon... check to see how worn they are first.

i'd go anything but OEM...

I'm not entirely sure which mag. I read it in but they tried a bunch of different aftermarket brake pads to get rid of the "mushy feeling" of the OEM brakes. They ended up going with the EBC green pads. Those in conjunction with steel braided brake lines helped get rid of the softness of the stock braking system. They added the only thing wrong with the EBC pads was the excessive dust, or something, on the rotors but the benifit was worth it.

I can't personally testify to this though, because mine is all stock.
