trd sway bar....how much improvment??

for the front strut bar, i recommend the DC sport CS-2. Very nice design, looks great and very functional. Nice and stiff. I got mine for 95$ and that's cheap! I think i got it at www.thepartsbin.com

But anyway what EXACTLY does the rear sway bar do? I wanted one because they look pretty sick when im behind someone that has them but i don't know the real performance gains. Does it do the same as a strut tower bar or something totally different? Any help is appreciated.
As mentioned, the sways work to reduce body roll by removing suspension independence.
A strut bar helps to keep the shock towers in line with one another when the body attempts to flex. This helps to hold the alignment closer to spec while cornering.
The largest effect you will see will be with the sway bar.

Agreed. The one thing I noticed with the strut bar, (by accident), is when I drove over this huge pot hole and bottomed the shock out on the passenger's side. Strut bars stiffen the chassis and actually keep the tires aloft while going through deep holes. If I would have went down into that hole completely, my bumper would no longer be there. It just scuffed the bolt on the bottom.
But yes, the rear sway can't be seen on tCs. You can see it on most Civics and Accords just b/c of the design of how they are made. They have to mount onto specific locations and Honda chose to make those strong points low enough that it would be seen from the rear. It looks cool, but I don't like the advertisement. I like the hidden factor with the tC.

No BS here. I installed the TRD sway bar on "race" setting in my Auto tC and felt the difference immedietly. You turn the wheel and the car turns. Period...End of discussion. Steering is very crisp especially on the highway makes the car very responsive.
Seriously it's the only upgrade that you can actually feel. All the intakes and exhaust are all noise. The anti-sway bar you will notice real quick. The car is making more rattles and noises especially in the hatch area. Drive on a lumpy road and you rear-end will get a massage...
After experiencing the real difference with suspension mods I'm sold on it. No more hype and bs with bolt ons that don't do squat.
Keep in mind that the Lexus ride-qulaity of thr tC will suffer with this mod as you are basically making the rear suspension to act less idenpendantly and the ride will get more harsh -but I like my tC even more now!

Hmm...maybe i should look into getting the rear sway bar and front strut bar. So you really do feel a difference after getting the bars installed ehh... I don't know how much better, but my car drives fine as it is now. But if I can make it handle better, who could turn that down. Except my wallet...
Tell me more about these "sway bars" and "strut bars."

Its definitely not mental. A simply way to test it out, find a a time where there is no traffic around you- (you live in socal so good luck and godspeed)- but try taking an off ramp as quickly as you can and pay attention to your speed and to the body roll. Then go home, take 15 mins and switch out the sways, now return to the same off ramp and repeat step one. You will immediately notice how much less body roll there is and that you can now take the ramp 5 maybe 10 miles faster than you could before. I'm not saying the bar makes your car faster, but the lack of body roll on the car gives you an added sense of car control that lets you know you can stay on the gas just a little longer until you begin to let up. So no, its not mental.
Do you "need" this? Absolutely not. But like any of us here that like to mod things, the results allow to love our cars just a little bit more.

seriously dude...itsa mega difference...i thought/knew the tC handled good before, as i have dodged a lot of crap....but this just takeson some extra turning ability...needed, no, but who needs a turboed tc, or s/c tc???

I found before that the tC handled moderately well for what it was.. but that was about it. It does great for a street car that is not a sports car. And when they designed it, they wanted a nice ride quality, hence the smaller sways.
With the rear sway you will notice a little less ride quality, but a BIG difference in handling.
