Turning issue (Metal popping noise)
I've done some searching on the forums, and wasn't quite able to find the exact problem in another post, so I decided to create a thread for some insightful input as to my problem.
I recently purchased an all-stock '08 Scion tC from a dealer last week. I've noticed (no doubt, after purchasing the car) that when I turn on the car and make a sharp turn slowly I hear a pop/klacking sound from the front.
After the first "klack" it no longer occurs during the duration of the drive. However, when I put it in park and turn off the car and go for another drive, the one-time klack returns.
Maybe it is my imagination, but it seems that after I get a klack, my car seems to accelerate better.
Now, the noise is more noticeable when I turn harder into a reverse, and it concerns me somewhat as I feel something is going to snap nor or in the future.
Wondering if someone could give some insight into this. I'm not a mechanic, but I do have a college degree, so giving me some technical terms means looking it up online, which I don't mind doing (after all, thats all college kids do now right?)
Thanks.

yea it can be a cv joint, get under the car and check the ruber cover that is right behind the wheel from the inside to check if its somehow cut or broken in any way, if it is, broken cv joints are probably the cause of the problem.

front sway bar could be loose....f you just bought it take into dealership and see if they can find it.......but first take a look at CV,sway, wheel lugs and for anything loose on the struts.

Took it into the dealer, it was the left control arm and right lower ball joint. Whatever the previous scheister owner did to the car, I dislike him, to a degree.
Oh by the way, no cost to me...LOVE the bumper to bumper. I need to find more things wrong with it...
