Default Whats Better? Tein H-Tech or Tein S-Tech

I was wondering whats better for the TC. I would like to give my TC a nice drop. But I dont want it to bottom out on everything and I would Like it to look clean. Also which one offers better handling in your opinion. THanks guys, any advice would be helpful.

lol wow wat a great answer. yes coilovers are better but if u really want springs. Then u just gota ask yourself what are you looking for? U asked for better handling, the S-techs would be better since the springs r stiffer. H-techs have REALLY good ride quality, i currently got them with trd struts. Rides really smooth, but its very soft so handling wise, the s-techs are way better. To be honest im saving up to switch to S-techs. I personally want something lower. Well i tried to give my best advice bud. Peace. Oh and with H-techs u wont scrape at all, unless u drive like an idiot.

from what ive researched the lower you go the more you hurt your handling.

Lol okay hmm,,, Tyler. u said H-techs paired with a good strut will give best handling? but you say "engifineer...nuff said"? on his 3rd post he says exactly that H-techs are tooo soft. So like i said before; H-techs are too soft and will not give u the best between the two options.

tcCal your right the lower you go past a certain point, which i hear is -1.5, would hurt your performance and is mainly for show. Thats true but hes comparing springs. Even tho s-techs are lower they are still better handling as compared to H-techs because they are stiffer.

So if he was comparing best handling on all the springs, this would be a different answer. So out of the two, S-techs will give u best handling. Where H-techs would give u best ride quality in normal city driving conditions. If this was out of all springs i would prefer progress springs. Still a low drop but good stiff springs. Thank you

-Tony.

Didn't delete my first post fast enough after I found that thread. I simply remember him stating s techs were always too low and h-techs were meh-meh, thanks for clarifying.

i love my htechs. a very modest drop to make it look good, slight increase in handling, and maintains ride comfort. :D

You won't scape with h-techs? There are a lot of bumps and dips in my area and I wanna get a drop so badly.

I honestly dont know why people say that Htechs dont drop the car!

heres proof

before

immediately after

settled on stockies

settled w/ 18's

so please show proof before simply talking crap about a product!

i say search, i think there are more tc owners with H and S teins then any other brand, you should see tons of pics!

Htechs have a great drop........not too low either......try driving on crappy streets in a car dropped too low and you begin to hate the car........although Stechs are lower and stiffer they are close to being to low to help handling as you pass that 1.5" drop point.

Once you go that low a set of coilovers like H&R or Tein SSP are about all you can do to get it back to handling good again.....plus with coilovers you can drop it or raise it for the use you are going to want.......in example shows, track, daily driver, long trips......etc

Picture is Htechs with 18x8s 40 offset 225 tire after about a year on car......they settle pretty low.

sway bars play a big role in the overall handling of a car, but thats not all that could be done for improvement, and the right springs will make just as much of a difference!

but no, Htechs are definitely not for performance, but i dont autocross or have canyon roads here in south florida, so theyre perfect for me!

its all about what you want, and what you can afford!

Thanks guys, some great opinions. I really like both of them. I almost purchased some megan springs but then I did some research and heard alot of bad things about megan springs. Thats when I decided Tein would be great for me. Yes I would like to notice my car being lowered and would love for the handling to be improved. Like someone said in here, I heard the same thing, that once you go past a certain point in the drop that you actually decrease its performance. Thats one of my worries. I have a trd sway bar and that helped alot. But im all about performance and I want my car to hug the damn road. Thanks guys, and thanks alot mengsta :D.....

I took 'easy street' and went with TRD Springs...

Feels completely like stock and rides quite nice. Even though it's a 1.25" drop all around, it definitely
looks lowered to me. (The rims pictured were 18x8.5) H-Techs will pretty much look the same except
they sit lower in the front. I've also heard good things about Hotchkis Springs (1.7" F, 1.9" R) too.

Just wondering, are there any benefits to having the front lower then the rear or vice versa (besides looks)?

^no real benefit, its acctually better to have the rear a hair lower then the front because of our horrible weight distribution, dont quote me on this!
