whenever i go over speedbumps i hear this painful sound
whenever i go over speedbumps.. the front suspension/wheels make a creaking sound as it hits the bump.
i just heard it today.
It doesn't happen if i go really slow..
what could cause this ?

tkae off one of the front wheels. the strut is right there. if its black, then its the stock strut. if its red, then its the trd strut. if its green or silver its one of the coiloversystem.
if its pink, man you had a weird previous owner!!!!!!!1

The reason why I asked is because with coil overs you can sometimes here the spring creeking/turning in the shock tower. Its just part of the natur of coil overs. However you can buy silencers that help out alot. Most suspension companies have them avail.

i had the same sound its the fact that it couldbe REALLY cold outside. thats what did it for me.
so before you take any drastic measures like changing anything or greasing anything, just take that into consideration!

A common issue on the xB's is that many aftermarket springs will rub on the bottom seat. The OEM springs have a plastic sheathing over them that eliminates the metal to metal rubbing. We took the sheathing off the OEMs and put it on my GoldLines and no more grinding over speedbumps.
I'm not sure if it is the same with the tC, but I bet it is. Anyone have a set of OEM springs around that they can check?

I had a noise that only occured when I went over rough roads and speed bumps. I took my car to the dealer today and they fixed it. It turned out that a spot weld had came loose. They had to take off my rear quarter panel to get to it.....but they fixed it.
