Where to get H&R springs!
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get H&R sport springs besides ebay and for 200 or less.. Im debating between TRD, H-Techs and H&R Sport Springs. But after alot of research I think H&R sport springs with a 1.4 inch front drop and a 1.3 inch rear drop would be the best performance lowering spring! Im more of a performance type guy then looks, if I had the money I would get coilovers but im poor like most people and have to get what I can! Thanks! :D

When I got mine, I got them at ShowStoppers for $219 shipped. Was the best I could find I think.

Oh I see and what do you think of Vogtland Springs.. Or what do you think are the best performance springs for a TC, not for looks but for pure performance and handling!!! :D Thanks

I really know nothing first hand about the Vogtland... Last I checked Dan Gardner runs them on his race tC, so they can't be that bad - but I don't know what the spring rate is.
As for the best performance... I really can't say for sure. I still hear good things about TRD. They seem to have the right drop... and the spring rate is decent, I've just never driven on them.

What about Vogtland Springs!!! Im gonna make a decision by the end of this week!! So far Im leaning towards TRD for performance unless theres another spring that outperforms the TRD! Thanks
So my top 4 choices in order from 1st to last on my list so far are TRD, H&R Sport, Vogtland and H-Tech....

I've had the H&R Race springs for over 50,000 miles on stock struts. I've gotten to the time now where I need to replace the struts soon but I've had no complaints whatsoever about the stiffness of the springs and the drop.
I'm going for the H&R coilovers now.... but keep the H&R race springs as an option.

The trd springs are stiffer then the HR sports, trds are also progressive rate which is nice, don't think the HR ones are. The HR race springs are different then the sports, I don't think the OP wants to go that low.

I dont want to go lower then 1.4 to 1.6 front or rear on the car. I would like to keep my handling capabilities and not lose them by going so low I lose performance.. :D I love cars that can handle...

My H&R Race springs reported that it was a 2 inch drop for front but even after they settled, they weren't a 2 inch drop. but also think about it, why would H&R have sport springs for a tc that performed better than their race version for the tc?
Mitigating body roll is going to matter more than a half an inch difference in ride height. Because, in reality the weight balance is going to be changed as soon as weight is added to the car. By going with stiffer springs, your going to help reduce body roll that is inacting uneven forces on the car that can commonly influence overstear/understeer. (NOTE: the forces that cause body roll aren't just going to go away... Its going to cause these forces to be exerted more at the tire's contact with the road... so make sure you upgrade the tires to something that has more grip)
My advice is to focus more on reducing body roll, not specifically worrying about ride height.
Your limited with springs, with coilovers you can have the Stiffness and the ride height. So if you really want to get the most out of your car, save up and get adjustable coilovers.
If you're just looking to get more out of your car, drop it with whatever drop you want, but get a thicker sway bar and new tires... that's going to give you the biggest performance gain to handling.

I have the TRD Rear Sway Bar with the Dezod Endlinks, I also just recently got all 4 brand new p225/40zr18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 tires, and a Raceland front strut bar! It handles pretty nice I would say for a taller car thats so top heavy and built like a 4x4 but comes nowhere close to where my old 3000gt was in handling! Im still in debate on what to get.

You can't go too low to hurt performance with only putting on a set of springs off the shelf, unless they are a crap off brand. Springs alone can't get you that low unless you modify them. What will be changing is how bumpy a ride you'll be getting on rough roads and spring rate

I heard it had something to do with the geometry of our car, id have to find the thread about it! Ive never lowered a car before so I have to do alot of studying/learning/reading to really understand exactly what would suit me best!
