scionkidd dont the htechs sit lower in the front then the trds though? 1.9 compared to 1.25 in the front and 1.5 compared to 1.25 seem like it would be a noticable differance? Thats the thing that annoys me about the trds, the front is higher then the back. I know this isnt a fairly accurate measure of the drop but how many finger space do you have in the fornt and the back?

as far for handling. As long as my car isnt going to handle noticibly worse, the looks i think may be worth it.

your car will handle a little better then stock, not worse

and from those pictures you can tell the Htechs are much lower then the trds

honestly trd drop is how the stock tc should have come

i can stick my finger in at an angle but not flat, so basically its a 0 finger gap, no tuck

the back is a true 1 finger gap, but with passengers looks totally flush as well

The front fender cutout is a tad larger, which is why the trds seem to sit lower in back.

It may handle a bit better than stock overlowered like that, but it will handle best at the optimum drop, which is around 1.4" as mentioned already. Most people go out and slam their car and dont even realize it handles barely better than stock.. many times worse than stock. And those people dont go out and autox or track the car, so they have no real idea how much better or worse it is.

On our supsension, as you get too low, while you are lowering the CG, you are also increasing the roll couple after a point. This means you will still have worse body roll issues and geometry issues than before lowering too far.

The next change I will make from the TRD's will be when I go with SS-Ps (possibly next autox season) or some other adjustable setup. And I will still be setting it to approximately 1.4" of drop before I have it corner balanced.

you'll regret s-techs. if you're gonna go that low, get coilovers so you can undo the slammed look if its not your liking.

so get coilovers. springs never settle right, they're lower in the front, or lower in the rear, one sides sits crooked, etc. been there, done that. waste of time and money.

you can adjust everything to be even all around with coilovers. and if the winter season or w/e rolls around, just jack up the car a little. you're getting the whole deal, too. springs, struts/shocks, etc.

^^ well yeah if u have the money by all means get coilovers, but most coilovers go for 800 - 1400 just cuz u wanted the lowered look whereas teins both S and H go for about 160 a piece

Yea I dont have the money for coilovers right now. Im just buying new springs. I just dont want to add the springs and not be able to tell a differance really. Then itl seem like i threw my money down the drain. Some people say you can tell the differance and some people dont. My friend just got stechs on his tc with 17's and it looks real good. Thats what made me debate on whether to get stechs or htechs.

Ive had both trd's and h techs, and I can tell you with full confidence and experience with both springs, that the h techs are superior to trds in both handling, ride comfort and everything in between.

trds were sloppier in handling compared to the h techs, w/ htechs you feel a lot more stuck to the road and secure and drive around with much more stability.

I don't know where the specific 1.4" as the perfect drop was determined? but the htechs handle much better and secure IMO.

trds are a bit too high IMO and they feel stiffer than h techs, While h techs seem to be a softer ride. I used both with trd rear sway. with the rear sway I couldnt put it on tight setting with the trd springs because the car became too loose for me and I didnt feel comfortable because it didnt feel secure to me. With the h techs and the trd sway I can put it on tight setting and it drives very nicely. I also feel like im more balanced driving at freeway speeds with the htechs and nice more pull when accelerating.

my h techs fully settled

my trds fully settled
