Default 19x8.5 Wheel/Tire Size Fitment Question...help me!

Hello guys,I was recently looking at some wheels for future plans to install on my TC.Of the many wheels ive seen Ive liked some that are 19x8.5/35 offset.I have doubts on,first:will a wheel this size feel my TC if I decided to drop it 1.5 inches without any rubbing problem?Second:If a wheel this size could be actually fitted...what tire specs should I use for the wheel?I would appreciate if you all could help me.

Do you know what springs/coilovers you plan to lower it with? That will actually help more than saying 1.5".

We have this thread with examples of setups that do NOT rub that include the wheel size, tire size, and suspension:

For your tire size, there is likely some good info in here for that:

My guess would be about a 235/35/19?

Im thinking perhaps with some Eibach Pro Kit Springs,or TRD,im not sure yet, because I would like 1.5 lowering maximum plus little to no harshness on the road. Can you suggest me something in this range?

I think the TRD should be pretty good for what you're describing. They're rated at 1.25" and really shouldn't settle much at all.

Would it be a problem to have 19x8.5 without adding coilovers, etc -and just ride on stock suspension?

^ Shouldn't be. You'd just have to worry about tire size and offset.

it doesnt make any diff performance wise it just look good, and yah 275 on a 8.5s and fyi if u put a 40 profile on a 275 instead of a 245 the 275 will look bigger, thats why u put a 35 profile on it to make it look the same or even.

go with a 225/35/19. maybe even a 235/30/19 if you wanted a wider look. but, ive seen tc's with 20's. and that one was a 225/30/20.
