235/40's on 18x8's???? Good or Bad
i bought some 18x8.5 +35 Rota's that were wrapped in 235/40's already and i tested fitted them on the tc with my hotchkis drop and there is like less than 2 fingers gap. has anybody here drove on 235/40's with their tc and if so what modifications need to be taken?? spacers/rolled fenders/change drop height??
i previously had 225/35's and had minimal to no rubbing issues except curbs

I think the tire would fit on the rim fine, but the more cushion you got the more forgiving the ride will be. I have 18x8 Axis wheels on my XB with 215/35 and the ride is very rough...but i love the look. I would stick with those 235/40's if they fit with no rub. It gives you enough of the low profile look without too much of the rough ride. I think it will be a good compromise.

You might be fine - but remember you're on a 8.5" width rim with a +35 offset.. the 235 width tires might hit your liner - so the most you might need to do is a slight rolling of the fenders. Most good rim shops can do this properly.
