Default +25 offset and rub ?

Hey everyone. This is my first post but I have been viewing this forum for sometime now. I don't have a tC yet but my wife and I are having a baby so that means, new 4 door for her, and I get her old baby, a 05 flint mica tC.

Now to you guys...

I know everyone is tried of hearing about the Tenzo type-Ms and I agree with everyone that they look weird if are not as concave as pictured on their site. But I saw they offer a +25 offset now in 18x8 and I'm thinking maybe they would look good in that offset. I wanted to know if anyone has them or similar rims in this size/offset??
Also, could someone advise me on how they would fit. I like the flush look but do not want them sticking past the well. Currently the car is on hotchkis but I'm thinking of bumping it up a little to Htechs or TRDs, especially if I get these +25offset wheels. It will be a daily driver and want as little rub as possible with little to no camber. Also, what tire would you advise. I'm thinking 225/35 to again minimize the rub. I have done tons of research, but I'm not that knowledgeable in doing this big of an offset. I don't even know if these rims are worth the effort but they do look sick on the website.

Thanks in advance for the help guys

You would rub like crazy with that offset - definitely with Hotchkis... but probably even with TRD.

not really.

you would be good if you did 215/35 and ran some camber but in the rear you'll be perfectly flush and in the front you might MIGHT rub a tiny bit, if you do just add a little more camber. but those are nice offsets

Honestly if it is a daily driver that offset and spring set up is gonna suck........you will rub unless you run lowprofile stretched tires and camber.......which honestly is not gonna be any fun for a daily driver......sounds like you want a safe easy to manage set up.......try a 35 offset and even then it might have a rub here or there.....mostly on dips......only other way to run it is to go with less drop springs, even TRD are low in back and might give issues in the back with subs or passengers........

You can run the offset and camber but it gets old in the rain and such.......

Can you post a pic? I'm curious about these rims also, bronze on BSP FTW. Just trying to see how they'd look.

i think with the hotchkis drop, -1.5 degrees of camber up front, 215/35 tires all around and -2 degrees of camber in the rear, he should be fine. 215s arent really that bad of a stretch for 18x8 wheels so he shouldnt have a problem there. and that amount of camber wont be that bad either as long as the toe is adjusted properly.

i say go for it! be different, why have the same offsets as everyone else with the car, be bold and go for it!!

well i agree with dave, now if u dont want any camber your gonna rub. the fronts will poke a weee bit, the rears will rub with no camber. post a pick of your car so we can see the extent of the drop, my hotchkis drop was high compared to others... last comment if you do the work and fit them, they will look very good.

i think the camber i suggested is mild, here is an idea...

this is -2.5 up front which isnt bad at all. now im DUMPED on zeals (probably close to a 3-3.25 inch drop) and yes i rub and this is with 19x8.5 et 47 not really that aggressive but due to the fact that they are 19s and im so low, it was hard to turn and did rub (doesnt any more i raised it up .5 inch and i also brought the camber in to -.6)

this is 18x7.5 et 23 with 0 camber up front.

this is with a mild drop on H&R coil overs, only rubbed on harsh bumps (believe it or not) this is also with 225.40 tires with 215/35 i would have been mint. this is probably the closest set up to what you are takling about.

imo very flush, and with the right size tires and the right camber dialed in you'll be fine.

thanks for the info Dave and yes the 2nd pic is ultimately what I would like to achieve. I checked the offset calculator and +25et with 8.0 will sit very close to what you had there. and you said no rubbing? even in the back? Do you have any more pics of that setup?

I think I've decided to raise it a bit regardless. The hotchkis are just a little too low for my taste and its currently eating tires for breakfast. I'm now leaning towards coilovers to get it exactly what I want, that or maybe the Htechs
Was your tire wear some what even with -2.5 camber?

I also wouldn't mind rolling the fenders out a bit if I have to, does anyone know someone doing them in DFW?

rubbing was very minimal only on harsh bumps, and if you get coil overs, youd be crazy to not get the +25's

rubbing was the same front and rear, but once you roll the fenders rubbing is pretty much gone in the rear.

tire ware ultimately depends on toe. if your toe is in check then you'll be fine. you really dont wanna go too crazy on the camber unless you have to, -2.5 is good
