Default Advan: Super Advan Racing 2

OKay.. so i have been looking at these wheels for a while now and i only know one other tC owner who has them however the question was.. should i shell out almost 600 bux a wheel for a wheel that is not even forged?

all of the advan wheels are casted, yet they say they are light weight. i ahve never seen the weights of these wheels.. but i am still very interested in the design.

i plan to get a custom color.. one that is not posted on that pic, but what do you guys think of Advan as a company, the fact that its not forged, and the model itself.

and to be honest.. money is not an issue right now, since i have been constantly working and i have saved up currently $2500 to put into my car, however i am going to save up at least $4500 so that i can buy a decent set of rims & tires, and HKS coilovers.

if you have any preferences please list them as well.. i am looking for a 17x8 wheel with a +45-48 offset

thanks

sounds good!

how can you question advan? the 17x8 setup sounds perfect. I want to see your car when you get them. You still at CPP?

btw, i'm looking at Hanabis in 17x7.5... but atm I'm not willing to put money into my car =(

I have the ADVAN RGII's (Gold) in 18x8 +37 on my car, and they are super light weight. Seriously awesome rim. They are for sale in the PPC section.. GREAT DEAL.. I could pic one of these bad babies up with one finger with no problem. They are about 18 lbs in the 18's....

Great rims...

with the super advan's your paying for the nostalgia. these wheels to the japanese are like cragars to american muscle car enthuisiasts. they may not be worth the cost in design but they are worth every penny if your searching for that "JDM" look.

I don't know about the SAR2/3/etc but for the most part, Advan wheels tend to be weak.
Advan wheels are COLD forged which is a completely different process.. I've known too many people who have had their RG1s crack on them driving on the freeway to work and back.

I have never heard anyone have problems with their advans... show me proof of that so i can believe it.. not raggin on you, but proof would help..

Not sure how much you're going to believe some random person online, but yeah as stated before, I don't know anyone who has/had the SAR3 but the RGs and other models have cracked without even racing on them.
The only Advan wheel I would get are the Advan Sienna Gen2.. beautiful rims..

Yokohama partners with YHI Corporation in Singapore to distribute wheels and tires throughout Southern Asia. I've been told by industry sources that some Advan wheels are manufactured in Singapore by YHI, who also makes wheels for OZ, Konig, and Enkei.
