Best tire for stock rims

There is something nonoe is telling you . If you are gonna drive the Hell out of your car and turn at 120 MPH , get the 225s . If you are going to drive your car responsibly , buy the 215s . 215s are cheaper and will save you about 3 miles per gallon of gas . The difference is noticeable but , minimal . 215 work just fine . And be sure to check out treadepot.com . Very good prices there as well .
Good luck

The 3 mpg is also untrue. If you do the math when you fill up at the pump, then yes, you will see the mpg go down, however this is b/c it was not taken into account the fact that the speedometer gets thrown a touch off by the larger rotational diameter of the tire. So for example, when the speedo reads 60mph, you are really travelling 61mph on a 225 tire. Now this sounds minimal, but when done over the course of 300miles or so, it adds up. The math i've done (on average b/c it always changes b/c of my avg speed on a given tank of gas), is that when it reads 23.5mpg (which is what I average), it really means about 24.3mpg. On my stock 215s, I would consistently get 24.5mpg. So there may be a margin for error on my math based on my average speed, but it comes out to me getting .2 less mpg with my STICKIER 225s over the stock 215s. Not bad at all and not even CLOSE to 3 full mpg less.

First , I hope we agree that I was talking about the difference in how the tire feels . How it feels is noticeable . Very much so . However , we will agree to disagree . Regardless of what the speedometer shows , the bottom line is , mpg s go down and your speedometer is off . Not good . Especially if you push the limit on speed watching for police . I like your explaination but , based on my figures ( which coincide with many articles on this ) I disagree . But , that is cool . I am happy you tossed your 2 cents worth in . Gives everyone another angle to think about and look into . As for me , I likes my 215 s . As long as they are good tires , 215 s are fine . I speed . Very much so . Never a problem with stickiness with the exception of the crap stock tires . Put good tires on , 215 s are cheaper and are just as good in normal driving . 225 s feel a touch smoother but , paying the price for costlier tires and more money at the pump ? Not me .
Good luck on getting what you are looking for . And Spect2K3 , take it easy on those Toyos . Lol . By the way . I tried the proxes 4 s . Not bad at all . Found one I like better but , I only used them for about 500 miles .
