Best tire for stock rims

Yes the tires take about 300-500 miles to break-in. You'll notice great grip right away, but it then gets more responsive as you break them in. Nothing wrong with driving on them right away. Just will break in sooner, that's all.
TeaSea- Congrats on the t1r's! We snow-bound folks are stuck with the proxes4 ;) Keep us posted how the t1r's are

wow i used to be a huge proxie 4 fan but im sick of gettin burned by lesshcwab which owns toyo. so i got some new nitto neogens 225/45zr17 and i couldent be happier they wont last as long wht the shorter tredlife but man can they hold in the corners deffinatly stiffer sidewalls.

les scwhab? that's a tire dealer? they don't own Toyo corporation. if you meant that you wouldn't deal with them because they're the only local place to get toyo.. then that makes sense
And Nitto is a division of Toyo, so you did get Toyo's after all

i can chime in on that nittos are 107$ at americas tire/ tire rack. my friend has the hankook his subie 2.5i impreza. he likes tem but they are a hard compound so not as sticky as the nittos and wet weather i guess he dosent like them to much but they do have a stiff sidewall like the nittos. the nittos are roughly te same price and have a better traction rating but a lower tredware rating. so if your looking for grip and around 15-20k milles out of your tires nittos if you want 25k or so but at the compermise of grip in corners get the hankooks

jwaggz82... just want to let you know I recieved my PX4s today and on time! I wasn't so hesitant to order from edgeracing, my friend told me he had never had any problems with them... and we're all the way over here in Calif. If anything, just call them before placing an order and make sure they have the tire/size in stock.
Can't wait to get them mounted on!!! Yeh PX4s!!!!

^yes I am. Ive had problems in the past w/ places that dont take things back easily and I was burned a few times also. But thanks - I am going to order them on the 18th .... "im trying to budget my $$ for the CC cycle" ...hehe. Unless they are running out ...then ill get them asap.

even if they run out, it would only take a week or so to get a shipment back from Toyo's warehouse.
I hear what you're saying about being paranoid. They call it customer "service" sometimes I think some places should rename it "customer dis-service". But I bought my proxes4 from a local dealer. So I don't know about edge, wish I could help ya out there.

I went with the Toyo Proxes 4 - 225/45R17 - Its too bad they are closed on the weekend ..that means my order gets to sit pending till next week. Hopefully they have them in stock

i have motegi traklite 1.0's 17 inch with 225/45 t1r's. they rock. i the rain they really outperform anything else i have driven. the grip is mad and roadnoise is barely louder than stock (at 127mph! hahaha!). i guess they aren't all-season/snow tires, but wtf, i live in dallas now. if u get no sno, get t1r's. u won't be disappointed.

yeah in places where snow rarely happens, the t1r's are perfectly happy. Toyo makes the t1r's for those who don't have snow or cold temps..
yup otherwise get the proxes4 for all-season. Isn't it nice to actually find a tire, quiet, rides well and grips madly? props to toyo!

I believe the PX4s have the same tread compound as the T1Rs and the reason why the Proxe4s have more tread life is because of the tread design.
I know that because I live in Cali, I could use summer tires... but I still would like decent tread wear, so the PX4s are the best choice! Besides, it's always HOT over here, so my PX4s basically perform like summer tires!!!
