.. so we all know the stock tires on the tC suck... but what is a good replacement for them? I have the stock 17's, so I want to keep the same size tire, but I'd like ones that are a VAST improvement over stock..

1) Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position
2) Avon Tech M550 A/S
3) Pirelli PZero Nero M&S

The Avons and Pirellis are popular around scionlife, but the bridgestones just came out and seem to be incredible - just dont have the winter results yet because they are new tires. The bridgestones are expensive though - i'd say avons are the best bet

how much would a set of the bridgestones cost?

and I thought the potenza's sucked?! or is that a different model than what i'm thinking of?

These are a MUCH different model than what your thinking...probably the stock craptenzas. These are the ultra high performance all season tires. Approx $150 per tire. Great reviews thus far, but i can't stress enough how new they are! I am looking at the avons and the potenzas for my car, i'm torn right now!

Dunlop Direzzas aren't bad, stay away from Ventus HR II's.

Bridgestone Potenzas come in all different sub models, some are pretty high performance tires.

I have pirelli p-zero nero m+s on tC. Pretty good. But I have BF Goodrich g-force kdw on my srt4 and they are absolutely great. Pretty cheap too. A little noisy on High way tho

TOYO T1R.. cheap, good treadwear, handle great, stiff sidewall.. and they are one of hte lightest tires on the market.

i would suggest these, i tend to stay away form the g-force simply because htey are very loud..

I have had the Avon Tech M550 A/S on for about 1500 miles, love them so far. Much better than the potenzas on the dry, a MILLION times better on the wet, I hear they have a decent tread life, they are not loud and you can get them for $103 each on tire rack. They also get rave reviews on there as well.

On the dry, they grip very well and are predictable when they start to give in turns.

On the wet, I have pushed them hard. I took them around a sweeping 90 degree turn (in an industrial area, no houses or traffic.. nothing but grass around the corner..) in the pouring rain. Went into the corner at 60, came out at approx 65 - 70. They began breaking loose, but were very controllable.

I also have done a series of 70 - 0 stops standing on the brakes in the rain and was very impressed.

There are better performance tires out there of course, but for all around wet and dry driving I have been impressed with them. Just my .02

I havent really had any experience with them. I have always run firestone, cooper, goodyear and avons on my cars.

Just one thing to point out is that alot of the tires being mentioned are ultra high performance SUMMER tires. The ones I mentioned above along with some others are ultra high performance all-season (which is what I would recommend). You have to decide on which you'd prefer before you look at any tires. This means that you have to decide if you are going to use winter tires...

You can also add the Toyo Proxes4 to the all-season high (or ultra high) performance category..

The g-force kdw's are wet and dry. Not sure about snow as my car sits in the garage when it does snow here.

i have the Toyo Proxes 4, and these babies are the Shiznit!! Awesome grip in wet or dry conditions. They are an ALL Year type brand.. Awesome grip. ..

The NeoGens or the ST 115 are best for the Nitto brand for our ride. But again the TOYO's Proxes are the POOP, as the saying goes....

I second Enfigineer's thoughts on the Avon Tech M550's... I've had them on for 20k miles. They're awesome tires.
