Default A big wtf for SportMax 962 Rims.

Ok so I have been having this wheel dilemma for months. I just cannot decide on the rims i want.

When i finally decide, i run into a host of problems.

The SportMax 962- Nice rim fat lip, justttt what i want.

BUT!

for some reason 18x7.5 has a larger lip(2.25) than the 18x8.5's (2.0)

Can anyone plz explain this to me?

http://www.sportmaxwheel.com/sportmax_962.shtml

Those are the specs for the rim.

According to that website, in order to get a nice fat lip, i need to get 18x9.5.

Now i honestly think that is going to pose some serious problems with rubbing and just the overall stance of the car(like rims sticking out past body)

IM dropped on h.techs mind u, 1.9"fr, 1.5" rear

Also, even if i wanted to get 18x8.5 disregarding the fact that for some reason it has a smaller lip, than its 1 inch skinnier counterpart, the bolt pattern is wierd.

i know the tc only takes 5x100 correct?

they dont offer the 8.5 in 5x100, only the 7.5's

SOmeone help!

it's probably the offset of the wheel. talk to them to see what the exact offset is for the 18x8.5

And you're gonna let someone decide that's the only offset you're gonna get. That's just recommended to be on the safe side. To get that stance you gotta sacrifice probably some fender rolling and do more research regarding offsets and tire sizes. It'll be a while before I decide on some wheels but til then I'll be working all that on out.

Edit-seems like for this wheel you just might be sol.
