Default Brake Pad Choice

I'm going to be replacing my brake pads soon and I'm on somewhat of a tight budget. I don't need anything beyond OEM but I don't want a noisy and dusty cheap pad either. The OEM pads worked great but their life is through.

My question is, does Advance Auto Parts (Discount Auto), or Autozone carry any in-stock pads that meet these standards or am I heading to the dealer? I don't want to order anything online for such a simple task. How much do they run at local dealers on average? I do have a $20 rewards credit at Autozone and get military discount so it would be a bonus if their "Duralast" brand is near OEM quality. Thanks in advance guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

my gf works at autozone and the duralast pads they have are pretty good. definitely meet/exceed OEM quality imo. i dont use them but she does (duralast gold) and they dont seem to be that dusty either. plus they have a warranty so if you have any problems you can just bring em back

I bought some advance auto part brake pads during the summer and they work great but they're more dusty than the OEM.

Ok sounds good. Any change in brake noise? Squeeling or otherwise?

go with the autozone pads, they are made to meet or exceed OEM spec and not to mention autozones lifetime warranty is great! if im not mistaken, once the duralast pads wear down and need to be replaced, you just take them into autozone and they'll give you a new set. i believe they do this lifetime warranty exchange on rotors as well.

AGREED. I have used Duralast pads for years on various makes and have no complaints. When your pads start needing replaced the "scraper" will make the brakes squeal and you can go and swap them for brand new ones. Loved that fact on my truck which I towed a lot with. currently have them on our corolla, Camry, and the GF's Rav4. The tC is wearing Wagner Ceramics...but when they need replacing I'm going with duralast gold. For normal driving they do great.

Put them in today. They feel very OEM, which is just fine. I was surprised that the OEM shims fit perfect. Whole swap took about 15 mins lol.
