Default can 245s fit w/o a widebody kit of some kind?

I was just wondering if a 245 tire could fit on the tC. I don't mind rolling the fenders and would ideally love something like a 245/45/16 or 17 all around.
I know with a wb kit ive seen 245fronts and 275rears.

You'll need 8" wide or greater rims, preferably with a 45mm or greater offset. And you'll want 245/40/17 to maintain the closest rolling radius to stock (otherwise you'll throw off your speedometer).

Yes they'll fit - we have nice wide wheel wells. You just need a wheel size with the proper offset. Like what Neo said.

now...
will they fit with the right offset and no fender rolling? or do you have to at least roll the fender?

I saw dr. isotopes profile and it seems that he is running 245/40-17 which has a 24.7 diameter which is .1" bigger than stock.
I would love to find a semi-lightweight 16x8 5x100 wheel with the proper offset to run a 245/45-16 tire. It would be a perfect balance of a decent width and sidewall for drag racing and handling would be good as well. I can't find a wheel like that anywhere online.
or...
I would love to know if the SSR 17x8 w/ a 48mm offset would work with 245/45-17s which would end up being .9" taller than stock. and the best part is they only weigh 12-13lbs.

I've been referenced!

Fits just fine. 17x8 +46 w/ 245/40-R17. No rubs.

do you think a 245/45-17 would work w/ trd springs
also, how is the handling?

I'm lowered with the TRD dampers and springs. No problems at all. The only thing that scrapes is the bottom of the front bumper going through dips.

how about 245/35/19 on a 19x8.5 wheel on a 35 offset? I have coilovers to adjust but i don't want to rub. What do you guys think?

35 offset will kill you for rubbing.

I have 18x8 225/40/18 +32mm offset dropped on TRD shocks/springs and the tire rubbing is killing me. The rims are rare so I'm doing whatever it takes to stop the rubbing... They rub on serious bumps (ones that you think would damage a wheel) or agressive turns to the point of losing traction, or when I have more than 500lbs of people in the car, including myself it rubs on bigger than normal bumps.

I rolled the rear fenders myself (carefully) and the rubbing is completely stopped when I'm alone in the car, but taking agressive turns with about 500lbs of people in the car it still rubs a bit in the rear, and the front seems like it's hitting plastic, but haven't figured out where just yet.

Buy rims and tires that fit... period. I got an unbeatable deal on my SSR's, so time to modify my car to make em fit.

Otocan - on the driver's side, if the top of the wheel well is 12:00, look at about 10:00... or feel in there. That's probably where it's rubbing - there's a bump right there.

thats weird i have 17x8 +32 235/40/17 and i slammed it with tein coilovers and i dont rub. i understand im on 17s but trd is a mild drop. compared to my drop. there has to be something wrong with your drop or you're listing the wrong specs for the wheels.

The only thing I can think of with my drop is that the TRD springs dropped WAY lower than 1.25" over time or my TRD shocks are all dying at the same time, the specs are accurate. Keep in mind I drive almost everywhere with 2 other people plus myself, so that's at least 600lbs, plus 100lbs of audio + deadener and a full trunk, so you're looking at about 3700lbs with a full tank of gas. I am definately hitting metal in the rear and plastic in the front because of the sound, and already cut a little away from the liner that wasn't needed in the front and rolled the rear fenders almost flush. Keep in mind this isn't disgusting tire rub, or enough to show tire damage yet, but it is there and you CAN hear it when it happens, and it's not pretty. Like I said, driving alone, it doesn't happen unless I hit a dangerous bump no matter how hard I drive, but it still happens.

It is possible my camber is off because of how bad the roads are around here, so that's my next step. I've also got to measure the stock wheel gap at all corners and depth from stock tire to fender because I can barely fit a single finger gap in the rear well (which my finger measures 0.8") and just over finger gaps in the front (probably 1-1.2") - I'm also going to try something like shoe polish, or some kind of powder on the wells to see exactly where it is rubbing.

anyways, enough thread-jacking with my problems, if anyone can help me, PM me - YES it is possible to fit a 245/40/17 on a 17x8.5 +48mm offset 5zigen FN01R-C's with no rubbing under any circumstances - been done and proven, and anything around that size will fit, but going any farther than a +45mm offset on that setup is asking for trouble. It's all about the offset and tire size.
