Itd be too scary for daily driving! Ive cracked a wheel on my tC twice already and that wasnt a pretty sight. Had they been CF the whole wheel probably would have shattered and Id be out tons more money. Not worth it in my opinion but itd be cool to have some wheels that had accents of CF on them.

we argued about cf wheels already they do make them for race applications but one harsh bump and there trash

not worth the risk imo it would ruin your track times if not knock you out the race all together

and as far as daily driving well thats just dumb i wouldnt even use 5zigen fn01r-c's in the chicago land area becosue the pot holes would dent them up and crackt them to easy

ok if thats understanding for race applications...but there is no bumps in a race track so there are no worries...

^^ woudnt say that lol but i guess it depends on the track so im sure they know if its worth taking the risk on the track before they pop the rims on

yes i know all those facts... but the most disturbing part of all is that this eclipse is a RALLIART concept... it was designed for rally racing like the evo all-wheel-drive... if this is really CF, is it possible that they made it stronger now? or if this is an overlay... why overlay? pointless... concept having overlays? concept cars are known to push everything to let say the edge of the universe...
the fact that they have placed them on a concept car... they can be CF wheels...

but then again they might be just teasing us...

but if those overlays are available anywhere... i want them, they look badass thou...

There may be no bumps in a straight line course, but if you're talking road course where these rims would prabably be most effective, theres the curbs to worry about as well as going off the road completely. If your wheel locks up and you go in the gravel or into a wall so much as lightly, the wheel is nothing but a pile of carbon flakes

I rather enjoyed putting 700 quotes in one box...but anyway, to answer everyones questions or doubts, the rims are actually carbon fiber with billet aluminum spokes (and thats straight out of automobile magazine)

so they are CF wheels, i knew it... now i'm satisfied... :D
what magazine is this?

now the question is... are they stronger? will they shatter just like everyone thinks they would?
I mean obviously whoever made those wheel know that they may shatter... but could it be that they have designed a CF will that would be atleast stronger than what we are all thinking about?

the magazine is "Automobile" I had a dentist appointment after I read this thread and saw that one of the articles in there was a short little blurb about the rallyart eclipse. And since it's carbon fiber I guess they could afford to make it a tad thicker than what everyone else is thinking...but since they are produced by ralliart (rallyart, raliart, however its spelled!) they must know something. But looking at the wheel, since there are so many spokes and such little space between them, that should make the carbon fiber pretty hard to crack...my opinion only...
