Default chemical reaction on my hp's but fixed! pics!!!!

so up here in New Hampshire the winters are bad an obviously i take my summer hp wheels off..so before i stored them i washed them, dried them waxed them..whole 9 yards..

so i pull them out this past Sunday and the lip is all messed up..something ate threw the polish, clear coat, etc...i was P****
so i decided to try an fix them myself first before i go and spend some money to get them fixed so this is what i did:

whipped them down with some cleaner,
and this was the scary part----sanded them in 3 steps:

1. 220grid sand paper to get rid of the crap that was on it and they were pitted so i need to get pass the pit...
2.800grid to clean it up alil
3.1000grid to make them smooth and cleaner
after about 4hours the sanding was done on 1 rim..lol...but i wanted it to come out nice..so last i polished them up with mothers mag and aluminum polish an this is what they look like now!!!!

this is not dirt...

nice and shinny

did you do it all the way around the rim? or just in the spots where the "thing" was? I would like to polish up the lip on my rims too....

Great work, but man is that tedious work. It's worth it.
