ContiExtremeContact too soft!?!?

ContiExtremeContact too soft!?!?
I just put my 215/45/ 17 continental contiextremecontact all season tires on. I'm disappointed with these tires. I thought these tires would be really firm and responsive. These tires feel like their flat at 35psi. Are thse tires suppose to be broken in or what? My bald stock yokohamas handled better. Are my tires a defect or this is how soft its suppose to be?

Well I think they have decent performance for an all-season... but if you were expecting miracles, they don't have them. I have these for winter and run KDWs in the summer (right now), so I don't drive too hard on them when they're on, so can't really compare them to anything else for real performance. I was satisfied with them when I got them though. But I really only used them for winter driving.
Any reason why you're running 35psi though?? That seems a bit high...

Ya, I'd say 32 up front and 29-30 in the rear. Don't know exactly how much different it'll make the ride, but will help the tirewear stay even though (overinflated tires will wear more in the middle).

from what I've heard of people who put these on the tc, they're sort of "mushy" feeling. Almost like they're just too soft for any good handling.
Before you put lots of miles on them, talk to your tire shop see what they can do for you, maybe get you another tire instead of these.. Without having to pay $$$ again.
They aren't the best of tires as you can see. They might be good on some cars, but on our tC it's kinda making the tC feel like a "buick".. mushy and numb

ugh.. the luck i have then.. Well these tires are rated 4th on tirerack's ultra high performance all season category. Better than the pirellis and kuhmos i was going to get. I should have just bought the Pirelli pzeros that come as an option with the tC. Since its assured their made for tCs.

well vvti24-
I did have the pzero nero's and trust me when I tell you they are a great tire, BUT.. They had many out of round and unbalanceable tires. I don't know how many I went through.. 8 maybe? Til I dumped them and went with the Toyo Proxes4. I really think the Proxes4 was almost "made" for the tC. In the sense that it works very well.
Maybe you could go back to the tire shop you got the Continental's from and see if they could help you get the Proxes4. I know you'd be happy with those.
