Default Curbed my tire, I want to replace all 4 tires now.

So today I got distracted and I curbed my front passenger side wheel. It looks like a dinosaur too a bite out of the sidewall. I have just under 18,000 miles on my car but the front tires have noticeable wear. I had the car for 4 years and only commute to school/work and back so I don't have many miles on it. Should I replace all 4 tires or just that one? I got a nail in one of my tire couple years ago and spend like 250 bucks replacing it . I don't need fancy tires because I don't race. Are there any tires out that that are good and reliable without making a huge dent in my wallet. I'm thinking about replacing all 4 but don't want to spend more than 500. I was looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+ but it's kinda pricey, but I might consider it since there is a 70 buck rebate. Can anyone give me some input on what tires are good? Thanks.

Here are the pics of the tire I curbed, you think it's still driveable in the meantime while I decide which set to get. Definitely going to get them replaced but haven't decided which pair yet. It seems to took off a chunk from the rim protector area and I don't see any wires.

There are PLENTY of tire sets you can get for around 500. its all personal preference at that point. i would say some of the best are BF Goodrich, Toyo, Goodyear, Yokohama, Michelin (spelling??), and several others. I would use a site like tirerack.com to do research and then call some local shops to see if they can beat the price. I would stay away from Nexxen tires though. they are notorious for crap sidewalls. i blew out 2 of them and i know a lot of others that had bad luck with them. maybe check out Kumho Ecsta's. there are several different types and a few sets under 400.

If you are already near 20k miles, i personally would replace all 4 so you have matching tires and even wear on all of them. good luck!

You should replace tires in pairs. I would imagine after 4 years the rubber is starting to dry out and crack anyway, so it might be a good idea to replace all of them.

Check out tire ratings on www.tirerack.com and then buy them wherever you can find them cheapest. Also see this thread for reviews.

I've ran both Nitto Neogens and Goodyear Ealge GTs, both of which have been an awesome tire, but the Neogen is cheaper! The cheapest I have seen the neogen is $98 on discount tire I believe?
