Really considering putting a down payment on those SBC RPF1s. It's one of my dream wheels. When would I have to make the payment in full?

you wont have to pull, but you will definitely have to hack away your bumper/quarter panel tab.

they are definitely more "chrome" then painted gloss if that makes any sense, but Enkei says on their website to treat them like paint, ive acctually waxed them twice.

I'd expect you to hate me for buying these wheels. But I'll gladly take the support instead. :D

I'm going to take a day to think about it. I was in the middle of talking myself into putting my money towards photography.

If doing photography gets you $$$ then go with that, it'll get you these wheels, or something as nice/nicer. If you can do both that's def cool. Of course it's your $$$ and you'll do what you want with it.

Well photography is a money pit just like my car. I don't get paid to shoot. I'm not quite that good yet.

Ok cool. I asked because that will cut my powder coating fees in half since he wont have to strip and he could actually use that as the base since the candy purple uses a sort of chrome base

i have about a 3" curb in one of the wheels that i sanded down smooth, it is definitely a coating, and not plating like chrome/nickel

Just a little info for you, anything "candy" is a translucent top coat color with added pearl. Really all it is, is a tinted clear...

That means whatever is under the candy base coat will determine how shiny the top candy color will be.

The best base for a candy top coat is real chrome or to polish the metal good.

So if you use the silver color as your base, you will not get a highly reflective finish.

Just letting you know

The way my powder coater described it to me was as a "chrome base" and I know there is some sort of chrome looking powder coating out there. Im not sure if thats what he is doin. As long as it comes out lookin like the rest of the stuff in my engine bay, Im cool. lol

Yes a chrome powder could be used as a base, but if hes doing it right, he will need to strip off the factory paint.

Exactly, thats why I was hoping the SBC finish was polished and not a coating cuz now he's gonna have to strip all that off. lol O well...
