drag slicks & drag radials
im looking for some input for a pair of drag radials to fit on stock rims or drag slicks on after market rims that will fit. im lost as crap so please help a fellow lifer out

im pretty sure radials have some sidewall rigidity so you can drive to the track on them and have less grip than slicks. and slicks have no sidewall rigidity so they'll conform to the track and grip better and also because they're softer and stickier. but they have almost no ability to turn with.

im just really confused as to sizing you know, so hears the situation. i have found a size of drag radial that will fit the stock rims (ill post a link later if i can find it again) BFGoodrich g-force T/A drag radial in a 225/45-17. so far iv been told that this will work but is the only drag radial that i could find. as far as drag slicks go im even more lost, i know that most drag slicks fit a 15" rim as well as some 16", what i dont know is how tall can i go and wide. im going to be honest with you guys ima dumb ars when it comes to tire sizing so pleas be gentle....lol

You went the right avenue by posting here first. A lot of people don't even know about that area. If you want to make a new thread and leave this one here, that would most likely be your best bet. I wish I could give you some better answers but the average person (like me) either knows very little about or have little exposure to thats stuff.

of course youll have to get a diff set of rims because those tires arent street legal.

already ordered the drag radials from discount, they come in thursday. ill post about em after i get them on and take em to the track. so far iv spent $714.00 but thats for 2 cooper zeon zpt (stock size) for the rear and 2 BFGoodrich g-force drag radials, all mounted and balanced. now i gota go and get a spare pair of rims to put the drag radials on.

the compound is much softer than the cooper zeon zpt i was running....i didnt know if it would be softer or not becous it is a street legal tire.....and the size is about the max you can go i think on the stock rim......225/45r17
tread depth is pretty damn shallow so thes wont get run on the street very much at all.
