Default Drag Wheel Quality (Drag DR-14)

EDIT: I am now looking at Drag DR-14's now which looks like the same wheel but it comes in a darker gun metal and a gloss block (which is what I wanted).
1. How is the quality of Drag wheels? (most important question)

Here is the link:
http://www.dragwheels.com/product.asp?ID=67

Here is the Axis Matrix wheel for comparison:
http://axiswheels.com/wheels.php?id=matrix

I have to find the specs on the weight and the size of the lip. These wheels are 18x7.5.
2. Is that a better wheel size?
3. Should I still go with 225/40/18's?
4. Will I have less issues with rubbing if I dropped it on Hotchkis or even something more extreme with the new wheel size?

u could probly fit 20's on a stock tc and not rub. 26lbs per wheel is heavy and i doubt the 19's are lighter, must be a typo. you probly wont notice a ride quality depreciation, you only lose 6.75 mm of sidewall. as for the tires im not sure on the quality, they're korean same as hankooks.

Edit: if i missed any of your questions then i probably dont know. also the mileage will go down since there is more rotating mass, how much i dont know.

18x8 with a 40mm offset and stock ride height should fit just fine.

if the tires are in good condition you got yourself a set of summer tires worry free, they are not the best tires out there, but they should be fine.

with TRD's you should be fine..the drop is pretty minimal..the hotchkis drop you MIGHT rub a little bit but maybe browse around the hotchkis thread in the suspension section of the forum for some more info.

I also discovered the Volk GT-V's are the super high end version of this wheel which I guess the others are copying off. I wish I could afford those. They are like $700 a rim. I would be way too paranoid driving on wheels that expensive anyways. I don't want to put $3,000 rims on a $18,000 car. That is just my opinion. My OCD would be horrible if I had those.

ANYWAYS, bump for 4 questions up above about DRAG DR-14's and tires. Any help from those with wheel and tire experience would be awesome.

Found a wheel and tire package for Drag DR-14s (18x7.5, 5x100) with Kumho Ecsta AST 225/40/18 tires with lugs, mounted, and balanced for $950 shipped (shipping was $200). This is a few hundred cheaper than from what I have seen on other sites.

Eh, I think a lot of it is just a bunch of people hearing from a bunch of others that they are crap when most of the people saying it don't even know from experience. They are just saying it because others are saying. Just like with a lot of stuff. People tend to just follow what others are saying/doing. I am sure they will be fine. I am not spending 3k on rims, I just don't see it a smart purchase when I own a 18k car. If I had a 40k car, then yea, thats fine. And why, just to say you have baller wheels? I am the kind of person where it doesn't take too much to make me happy. If they are good looking wheels and they won't get me killed riding on them then I am happy. I don't race. I don't put my car in shows. I just want to get different wheels than the stockies that everybody has. There are too many tCs around this area and I am tired of my car being a sheep.

Drag copies everyones wheel designs I don't think they have one wheel design that is there own. I can't comment on the quality but I know I would never buy them.

Don't get me wrong, do I think the quality is going to be as good as an expensive wheel, of course not. I just want to know if they are dangerous, if they can bust if I hit a pothole, etc. Does anyone own a set of Drags that can give me a product review? That way I can be assured it is just not someone saying "oh those rims are crap because I own Volks or Works or Gram Lights." Not to say that it is the case with any of the posters in this thread, because I don't know you. I am just saying that it tends to happen. It is just a mentality that some people have that their stuff is better so your stuff must be poop, even though in reality it can be pretty decent stuff.

I am running DR-11 on a TRD drop with 18. They have been good so far, I have had them for 6 months and no problems. Their heavy as heck, but they look good IMO. I did have to run a 5mm spacer to keep the hub caps on the front wheels, because the axle spindle hangs out so far. If you what performance, I would go with something lighter, but if for show, I say go. Good luck

The axis wheels I was looking at were 26lbs each. These Drag DR-14s doesn't give weight specs so I have to try to call them. What weight, width and offset are you DR-11s?

With tires they weight 35 lbs. So they are pretty heafty. I am running 18X7.5 with offset of 45.
