Default Falken 912 tires?

Hey guys im about to change my tires from 215/45/17's to Falken 912's 225/45/17

what is your opinions on it, i've read good and bad, the bad ones are all about the icy/snow roads which i will never see here in LA or SD...how long do they last? and also would they rub if i went to 225's if i'm on h-techs or should i stay with 215's?

i am choosing these tires because of their cost and treadwear rating

I would stick with whatever tire is cheaper. You wont see any significant difference with either size. No, you shouldnt rub with either.

I can tell you that I had this tire on my xD, and after the 500 mile break-in, they were VERY VERY comfortable to ride on. I was very happy with them (i drive a lot), and would recommend them as a great every day tire. The xD didnt have too much power so I cant really say how they would hold up with hard driving.

If you have stock wheels you will have no problem rubbing with the 225. Id stick with the 215 since they are probably cheaper if all you will do is DD. The falken's suck IMO. They are alright for DD but lack in the wet department and you will experience some wheel spin if they are not warmed up for sure.

225!!! F!!! T!!!! M!!! F!!! W!!!!!

I have em on my DD, and man do they ride smoother than stock tires, they in fact are one of my favorite parts on my car I'm riding on Toyo T1r 225/45ZR-17 I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THESE tires, don't know much about Falkens only that some frinds use them and they spin pretty easily on wet conditions other than that I heard they're good!

Its not that much of a difference with the 225. Your difference is the stock tires suck major squirrell nuts and the aftermarket toyos you have are way better!

Umm with the BAD pricing here because of importing and stuff, all 4 x $450 which is considerably cheap over here and I love them! and before that I had Goodyear Eagle F1, and they rocked nice, but last
ed too little :/

When it comes down to it... a lot of it is personal preference and greatly depends on how you plan on using them.
Not putting the Falkens down by any means.... but for a really good all weather performance tire... my money is on Kumhos.
are there better performing ones out there? eh... probably... but for the overall performance and wear for the price they are hard to beat.
They stick great and I got 45K off on my other tC with Kumho ASX's. (225/45/17)
The extra 10mm of width I never noticed any difference. (it's a pretty small increase). Main reason to step into the 225 is there are more tire options at that width and you dont have to worry about any rubbing on 17's.
