falken RT615's........they melted?
Ok, its been really hot here like 117 outside and my garage has been 130 or more on a daily basis. Here is the thing, i have not driven my Tc in like 2 weeks so it has sat in my garage or sauna if you want to call that.
anyway, here is my issue......
when i take my car up to 60mph or higher it vibrates like the rim is bent, but its not. I have had the rims balanced twice in the last week, they are 100% round and balance to zero (if that is the proper term) anyway so i took the car to americas tire today becuase that is the only place that sells falkens and asked what there opinion is. What they said is the intersting thing, since my car has been sitting and the garage basically the tires developed flat spots from sitting in once place in 130+ heat.
has anyone ever heard of that? can it be fixed of are the tires permently flat spotted. Its not something that is noticable, in fact they said its probably less the 1/32 difference but due to the soft compound and the heat and the weight of the car that is result.
wierd is all i can say at this point, so i guess im shopping for some new tires......

a friend of mine has had the same thing happen to his rt615's on his integra. It's not a daily driver so the car sits under a cover for a couple weeks at a time. He has noticed the same thing. It eventually goes away after a day or two of driving on the tires, so i guess the flat spots do work themselves out like engifineer said.

well, they are pretty much done as street tires.........as i have been told. one thing that someone at americas tires told me was to do a couple of burnouts to shave down the flatspots.
well i ended up using my 225/40 18 OEM sportmax dunlops off my lexus so im not sure what to do with these tires RT615's.......anyone need some track tires? i was also told if you shave them down they will be perfect for a track tire

the bad part is my garage faces west during the hottest part of the day, so it has read as high as 140 in there, that is without my fans on, but with its still about 130 or so.
you think that price is fair to ask for a 06 Tc with 8k miles on it? i bought it last september

are those mods still on there in your profile? If so then yea! even if everything is back to stock i would say around 15-16.5? IF everything is back to stock, if all of those are still on there then yea 17.5-18 sounds right!
