Anyone have any feedback on these tires? Looking into getting these if I get some 18's (225/40/1.



Wanted to know if anyone knew approx tread lifetime (treadware rating is 360 but that means nothing since I don't know anything about Falken's tire lineup). I found a few threads with these tires mentioned, but it was all for comparison purposes.

Get the new version of them the ZE-912. I had the 512 on my old car and my gf just got the 912 and I think the 912 is a better performer all around (snow, wet, dry). Go to www.unsertire.com they have them for a reasonable price and FREE shipping..badass.

But to answer your question, mine didn't last as long as I'd hoped and I had a little auto 1.8 sentra so I wasn't spinning the tires or anything lol. They were good in the snow and rain though while the tread was still deep. If the price difference between the 912 and the 512 is close, get the 912. If it's not..get the 512.

About how many miles did you have them for, my Cooper ZX2's lasted about 18,000 with a good amount of wheelspin going on.

I know you're not asking about them, but I can back up what 1DarkTC said. I have the 912's and they're great. I haven't had them through much snow, but so far they have been very grippy. Only put about 5,500 miles on them, so I can't attest to treadware over a long term.

Gonna have to look into them as an option I guess. Only thing is I don't need them for snow . I'm gonna keep my 17's with a set of blizzaks on them for next winter.

both the 512 and the 912 are all season tires...if you don't need them for snow then I would stick with a summer tire. No sense getting all season tires if you're not keeping them on throughout all of the seasons.

I got about 15-20K out of the 512s if I remember correctly...it was a few years ago

I still need them for when it rains, so the all-season function will still serve a purpose. 20,000 miles seems about normal, I don't plan on getting much milage out of any tires tbh, especially if I end up getting a turbo.

a lot of the summer tires have really good wet handling. look at the BFG KDWs, great dry and wet traction

A little pricey...but I still got some time until I decide. My friend is suggesting the Toyo Proxes. Plus I'm real picky about the tread on the tire, it just make the wheels look so much better when it has a nice tread pattern .

if you want an awesome summer tire...get the Nitto NT-555. (Not the 555R, those are track tires).

I've heard nothing but bad things about Nitto from people at my school, so they're on my avoid list. Yoko, Nitto and General Tires = No way for me.

to each their own..... every company has models of tires that are better performers than others so maybe those people at your school had models of nitto or yokohama that aren't the best. I've had Nitto, Toyo, Falken, Yokohama, and General between the 4 vehicles I've owned and as for non-winter performance goes..the Nitto NT-555 was THE BEST for handling and overall performance. Not the best on treadlife but definitely best on grip and handling.

Thanks for the input, I guess I will end up going with the 912's like everyone is suggesting. They're only a few dollars more than the 512's, same treadwear rating, same traction ratings and offers a longer warranty.

i have the 512s. they run fine for my everyday driving. i'm located currently in miami FL so have not really made use of the all-weather capability. my car may be in northern weather next year so that was a reason why i invested in these tires. i've driven about 10k on them and still have a decent amount of tread left. no peel outs or very hard corners done. i honestly haven't had many experiences with other brand tires on 18in rims with a 40 sidewall, so no real comparison i can give you. i'm satifisfied with this tire though.
