Default Floor Jack/Jack Stands

Sorry if this is in the wrong posting area

Gonna buy a floor jack & stands soon. I see some really cheap 2-ton jacks - cheap cuz they only lift from 5"-12". Smallest jack stands (3-ton)lift from 12"-17". Is this 12" really high enough to get decent clearence while you're under your car? I could go down and measure from ground to underbelly of my tC, but I figured I'd ask. It just doesn't seem like 12" is a whole lotta room to work, especially since the lowest part of the car might be ~8" off the ground already. Or so it seems. Anyone have specific jacks/stands they have that are perfect for their tC? I'm not really worried about floor jack clearence. I'll probably just use the scissor jack 1st to get it high enough for the floor jack to get under my Kaminari bumper.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I have some light weight aluminum ones and some of the bigger jack stands that I put under the car and I can crawl around with a creeper easily. I got them from craftsman. Sears should have them.

Found a deal on Bay. $38 shipped 2 ton floor jack(5"-13") & 2 2-ton jack stands(10"-16")

Gonna do some measurements under my car 1st, but like I said - I have no problem using my scissor jack then the floor jack. I saw the lo-profile one @ wally world, I really don't think it'll fit under my car far enough as only the first 1/3 of the jack is actually low profile.
