actually now that i think about it, i was cruising in Chicago with a buncha ppl, going prob about 20MPH on a side street, when all of the sudden BAM! there was a huge pothole that i didnt see.
those of you that have ever been in a bad accident know the feeling, your ears start ringing, your ***** are in your stomach, and certain parts of your body are numb and tingly.
yea...it was that bad.
rims...fine.
but im on stockies, had i been on something cheap, im pretty damn sure they wouldve been real messed up.
even the guy behind me said i hit it so hard that he heard it from inside HIS car!

on oakton st, theres a place where it looked like there was a big pot hole and was patched up.. but i didn't know the patch was deep as hell still (looked like a rush job)..
first time i didnt see it went over it at 35-40 and made me fly outta mah seat! almost hit my head on the roof XD. but everything seemed fine (wheel/tire/suspension)
yay

i experienced that "ringing" in the chassis when i hit the pothole on the Belt Pkwy that dented my passenger front 18's. Tire were still good....rim was cracked and bent. got a new rim, but maybe something is wrong with old tire...on cold days it leaks all the air out overnight...

yeah that highway is ____ after snow.... i even bent one of my stockies about a year ago on the belt pkwy too. Its not the wheels (i think they are good quality, other potholes havent affected it yet....crossing fingers), if its a deep ___ pot hole, its gonna bend that ____ no matter what process its made with. I had a convo last night with my patient who has a maserati superturismo S, and his front right rim was bent at the same area too on the belt.... but his was even more easier to ____ up be cause they were 20's..poor guy.

I don't have tire specs but wheels are r1 Racing 19's I slammed a pothole which was more like a swimming pool. Popped 2 of my run flatts which still got me to the gas station down the street. Rims are still perfect, no problems whatsoever. I had to replace 2 brand new tires though.
Same wheels... Ran over a moving 2 x 4 on the freeway doing atleast 65 - 70... No effect to my wheels or tires.
I used to have 19 in excel wheels that I got from wheelmax.com for cheap bent sooo many times everywhere. SoOOOOOooOOoO lame. Thats what I got for cheap as dirt wheels. There is definitely an improvement in durability when you spend more money! Do others agree?

I was zipping down the right side next to the 2 traffic lanes to make a right turn at the red, which I did every morning, when the light turned green and this big utility-bed truck starts rolling right next to me. I took the corner a little sharp and smacked the curb with the rear wheel. It knocked the back end out a few inches but I kept going. Put a decent little gash in my wheel, not more than a 1/2 inch deep at its worst and maybe 1.5 to 2 inches long. Several months later, that wheel bearing started squealing and had to be replaced. Put a big gash in the sidewall, kinduva a flap, but still worked.
My wheels are Axis MagLites, 17 inch. Few wheels have more phantom horror stories about them.
