Default hello fellow tc'ers, need tire help

2006 stock tc here.

original stock tires are almost worn out after 35k miles. they can probably last another 10k, barely. but i dont want to risk it.

i get costco discounts once in a while where they offer $70 off if you buy 4 tires. i think they are michelins? that would put me at around $400 for all 4 tires.

not looking for performance tires, just practical every day driver use tires. tires that can last 50k miles maybe. any recommendations?

Go for something brand name if you can. Michelin makes very good tires.

I would definitely recommend Bridgestone Potenza 960 pole positions. They are high performance all season tires, BUT it wont be anywhere near 400. Cost me about 750 ish with a 70$off promo and no installation. Luckily thats why i have friends that can do it for me lol

They perform extremly well on dry and wet surface. Have tested it out already. Snow isn't too bad but eh.

I highly doubt that you will be able to find tires that will last you for 50k miles. There's a thread here in the Wheels and Tires section that has tire reviews if you want to check that out. Tires are something you don't want to cheap out on, so make sure you purchase a notable brand. I have only used Falken tires on my car after the OEM Bridgestones went out. I currently have Falken FK452's on my car with about 20k on them so far and they seem to be nearing the changing point already. It seems like 25-30k is the norm for most oem spec (215/45/17) tires for the tC. Goodluck finding a set of tires. By the way, is that 400 bucks for the Michellins including or excluding installation? If its including, I say jump on the deal because I would have to say the Michellin is a pretty good brand.

well a lot of us like the Toyo Proxes4 and the Nitto Neo Gen tires. Nitto and Toyo are the same company, Nitto is a brand of Toyo Tires. They're good, last about 20-25k miles (Depends how ya drive, do rotations, etc). I do wish the tires (for this size tire) would last longer though.

I am coming up on 25k for my Goodyear Eagle GT's, probably can squeeze another 10k out of them. For So Cal driving they rock. I will probably be getting Neo Gens after these.

Michelins are known for smooth ride comfort, less road noise and long life. Performance wise? idk.
