How do aftermarket 16"s look???
I know ya'll gonna say 18-20... But I think my 17"s are big and uncomfortable + it spins more. I tried checking tirerack.com and picked the tC spec and they showed my 17-19" rims which is not the supposed to be the size of the spec tC.
Does anyone here have 16" aftermarket rims and a 225 width tires on their tC spec or regular model?
Thanks, I really want to see how they look!

IMO they'd just look tiny. I don't recall seeing too many with 16s at all actually. But that's probably why. I don't see any reason to go smaller than 17 anyways. Not even for weight savings... since you can get plenty of 17" wheels under 20 lbs.
As for the ride comfort and all, that might be a tire/suspension thing more than wheels.

Maybe if I get bored next time the car is in the air, I'll toss the Celica GTS 16's I have sitting around on there and see how they look. But I think the general consensus is right with them being small. Although thats nothing a little extra sidewall cant fill up. lol

I want a 16" for better comfort and straight line traction, so I will need a large sidewall... ( I may lose cornering traction a bit though...)
What lowering springs do you have on? I think the Celica 16"s with larger sidewalls will look nice with the S-Techs. (specially in black, dark gunmetal or dark bronze)

that's interesting to see. I never seen anyone with 16s on a tC. You might want to try out some Celica GTS rims just to see the ride height and etc.
But aside from that I'll be watching this thread.

The only tC I ever saw with a 16 is the white tC I test drove when I bought my tC... (It's a decent size but it needs a wider tread, I thought they where 17"s and the 18"s are standard.)
Maybe I would even try how my Corolla's 205 60 15"s look on the tC when I give it a drop... ( I tried to install it once but it looked horrible when it's not dropped with S-Techs!)

I've had TRD springs and shocks on the car for more than a year now so its pretty much settled I'm almost tucking in the rear and the front is about the same. I'll see if I get any free time in the next two weeks to tire this out.

no one on this forum has 16" aftermarket rims,
I believe another poster made the same request a couple months back.
you think 17" wheels are uncomfortable? those wheels are already small for the car IMO.
16s just look silly, especially if they are aftermarket rims.
the reason why your tires are slipping, is probably because they are hard tires. Ifr you use sticky tires they shouldnt slip, and IMO im not to sure how big of a comfort level you will gain dropping a small rim size to an even smaller one.

smaller rim = more rubber = more comfort
smaller rim = lighter = better performance on good tires of course
bigger rims = looks good..
and yeah i think i saw someone with 16s here long time ago, but i could be wrong..

I'll get some lightweight 16" Volks or Rotas (not sure about brands, but I will get 16"s in a dark color) and drop my tC...
I may even get better HWY fuel eco. (We'll see soon...)
I wanna see those Celica rims first though!
